Director of Public Works, Water and Development Services Kevin Wilson conducted the presentation. No directives were provided to staff. REPORT(S) FROM SUB-COMMITTEE 4. Possible Transportation Grants for an Electric Bus Route within City of Vernon. Director of Public Works, Water and Development Services Kevin Wilson provided a brief report on the evaluation of a potential bus route. ORAL REPORTS 5. Update on AQMD Proposed Rule 415 Rendering Odors. Director of Health and Environmental Control Leonard Grossberg briefly reported on the various meetings that are being held by Air Quality Management District (AQMD) on proposed Rule 415. 6. Backeround: CalRecycle has adopted AB 1826 the "Mandatory Commercial Organics Recycling" Bill to reduce the amount of organic wastes that is currently going into landfills. ln order to reduce that amount, they have mandated that local enforcement agencies direct their efforts in educating and informing the public of new measures that will take effect in January 2016. We would like to present a brief oversight and presentation of AB 1826 to the Commission, and then prepare a workshop presentation for the Vemon businesses and solid waste haulers in early 2016. Budget No action items requiring any budget expense is currently being requested.
