Request for Approval of Task No.8 — Burns and Roe Enterprises, Inc.
On September 21, 2005, the City Council approved Resolution No. 8860 to authorize the
execution of an agreement between City of Vernon and Burns and Roe Enterprises, Inc. to act as
the Owner's Engineer for the Vernon Power Plant. Burns and Roe Enterprises, Inc. was
contracted with the purpose of providing the City of Vernon Tasks No. 1 thru 7 during the period
September 19, 2005 to June 30, 2008 with the total amount at a cost not to exceed
$ 3,636,000,00.
Tasks No. 1 thru 7 are as follows:
l . AFC Support and Conceptual Design Development
2. Procurement of Heat Recovery Steam Generators and Steam Turbine Generator
3. Selection of EPC Contractor and EPC Cost Estimate
4. Home Office Support During the Design, Engineering and Construction Phase
5. Construction Field Representative and Startup Manager
6. Project Closeout
7. City of Vernon Requests for Additional Work
It is hereby recommended that the attached proposed Task 8 be added to Resolution No. 8860 to
the original service agreement with Burns and Roe Enterprises, Inc. Task 8 will comprise of a
Feasibility Study of Underground Transmission for the Southeast Region Energy Project and is
to be completed within 13 weeks from authorization to proceed and at an estimated budget total
of $ 140,000.00.
