Dear Mayor and City Council, (I, . PA I'
Good morning Honorable Mayor and City Council
am Ron Miller Executive Secretary representing 140,000 skilled and trained men
and women within 48 local unions and district Councils in Los Angeles and Orange
Counties. I would like to voice my support for the Council to move forward with
exploring the possibility of developing the property being discussed. The Building
Trades has been a part of a majority of the solar and wind projects done in this
area and we are able to supply the skilled and trained workforce to complete
projects such as you might be contemplating. We feel along with our strong
partnership with the Silverado Company we would provide the City with a team
that would be very beneficial to making this project a success. I would like to also
invite any City officials to tour our apprenticeship training centers if you haven't
already done so, the local unions and our signatory contractors are very proud of
the amount of time and money they spend to turn out the very best skilled and
trained work force for the construction industry.
