REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the city of
Vernon I Oounty of Los Angeles, and State of Ca1ifornial was held
on the 21st day of September, 191 5, at 2 0' c100k P. M. of
said day at the regular meeting p1aoe of said Board in said city
of Vernon, whioh said time and p1aoe is the time and p1aoe fixed by
ordinanoe for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at suoh meeting T.rustees, Leonis, stevens,
Kniffin and Furlong.
There were absent from suoh meeting Trustee, Durbin.

The minutes of the meeting , held on September 7th and
September 14th, 1915, were: laid over.
Thereupon Resolution No. 144 being a resolution to do certain
street work in Santa Fe Avenue, in the City of Vernon, was intro-
duced, read. and adopted by the following vote:

Said reeolution No. 144 is in words and figures, as follows,
to-wit:
"RESOLUTION NO. 144"
itA lUISOLUTIOli OF THE :SOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF VERNON.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon, California, do hereby
resolve as follows, to-wit:
That the publio interest and oonvenience require and it is the
intention of the Board of T~ustees of said city to order that portion
of Santa Fe Avenue in said. city lying last of the oenter line of said
Santa Fe Avenue and extending Southerly from the production Weeterly
of the oenter line of Fruitland Road as shown on map of Huntington
Park Exteneion No. 1 reoorded in Book 8, page 181 of Xaps, records of
Los Angeles County, California, to its interseotion with the production
Easterly of the center line of Center Avenue, sometimes called Center
Street, as shown on map of the H~ Tract, recorded in Book 29, page 2
of Uisoellaneous Records of said Los Angelee County and trom thence
Southerly to its intersection with the production westerly of the South

line of Lot 15, Block 6, Huntington Park Extension No. 1 aforesaid,
said line being the South city boundary line of said City of Vernon,
a strip 80 feet wide being 40 feet either side of the center ~ine
excepting such portions thereof as are required by law to, be kept in
order and repair by any person, firm or corporation to be ~proved
in the following manner:
(a) That said street between said limits be graded to the
official grade and that the roadw~ space thereof be paved with
a concrete base and asphalt wearing surface in accordance with speci-
tications No. 11 and plan and profile No. 13g of said city.
(b) That a concrete gutter twelve (12") inches in width be
eQAstructed along the sides of the roadw~ space of laid street and
adjacent to the curb, between the aforesaid l~itl, in acoordanoe
with .pacifioations No. 10 and also as per said plan and profile.
(e) That a conorete curb be constructed along the 8ides of
the roadway space of said street, between the aforesaid limits
in acoordanoe with specifioations No. g and also as per said plan
and protile.
All speoifioations herein reterred to are on tile in the office
of the City Clerk of said city.
All plans and profiles herein referred to are on file in the
office of the City Engineer of said city.
The Board of Trustees determines that serial bonds shall be
issued to represent assessments of Twenty-tive Dollars (t25.00)
or over for tbe cost ot 8aid work or improvement: said 8erial
bonds shall extend over a period ending nine years from and after
the 2nd d~ of January next succeeding the date of said bonds,
and an even annual proportition of the prinoipal sum thereof shall
be payable,by coupons, on the 2nd day of January every year after
their date until the whole sum is paid; and the interest shall be pay-
able semi-annually by coupon, on the 2nd days of January and July,
respeotively, of eaoh year, at the rate of seven per cent (?%) per
annum on all sums unpaid, until the whole of said prinoipal and
interest is paid. Said bonds shall be issued in acoordanoe with

the provisions of an aot of the Legislature of the state of Oalifornia,
entitled wAn Aot to provide a system of street improvement bonds to
represent oertain assessments for the oosts of street work and 1m-
provements within munioipalities, and also for the payment of suoh
bond~," approved February 27th, 1893, and all acts supplementary thereto
or amendatory thereof.
The Oity Olerk is hereby directed to post a copy of this resolution
in three of the most pUblic places in the Oity of Vernon, to-wit: One
at the Northwest corner of Santa Fe Avenue and 37th street, another at
the Northwest corner of Santa Fe Avenue and 38th street, and another
at the front door of the Oity Hall of said oity.
The Superintendent of Streets is hereby direoted to post notioes
of street work along the line of said tmprovement in the manner and
form required by law, and also in the three public places hereinabove
speoified.
T. W. Garr is hereby appointed Superintendent of Streets for a~l
purposes connected with this improvement proceeding.
