19160404 Regular City Council Meeting - Minutes REGULAR MEETING. A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the city of Vernon) Oounty of Los Angeles, and State of California) was held on the 4th day of April , 19l6 , at 2 o'clock P. M.of said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said city of Vernon, which said time and place is tpe time and place fixed by ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held. There were present at suoh meeting Trustees, Furlong, Stevens and Kniffin. There were absent from suoh meeting Trustee, Durbin and Leonis. President Trustee Furlong presiding. The minutes of the meeting and March 28th, held on March 14th, March 2lst, 1916, were: read and approved. The request of the General Petroleum. asking tha,t the distance from paved street..:, to oil tanks be reduced from l50 feet to 50 feet, was laid over to the next meeting. The City Engineer was instructed to move the poles from the center of side walk to the curb between Santa Fe Avenue and Ross Street on the South side of 38th Street. The City Clerk was instructed to record a deed from Howard E. Huntington and Leslie G. Huntington, his wife, to the City of Vernon for a certainstrip of land lying between the South line of the Day Star Tract as said Day Star Tract is delineated on map in Book 25, page 66 of Miscellaneous Records and the North line of Tract No. 2688 as said tract No. 2688 is delineated on map in Book 30, page 66 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, Californi s. Also a certain strip bounded on the ~e.4ke..~ North by Eastern extremity of South line of Day Star Tract; at the East by prolonga- tion South 23002'30" West of the Easterly line of said Day Star Tract; at the South by Western extremity of North line of that certain tract of land lying along the East side of Right of Way of Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railwe~ Qem,aR~ due East of the hereinabove mentioned tract No. 2688, deeded by said Howard E. Huntington and Leslie G. Huntington, his wife to J. W. Maddrill by deed dated February 9th, 19l6 and recor- ded in the office of the County Recorder of the 60unty of Los Angeles in Book 6217 of Deeds at page 306 and at the West by the prolongation North 0010' East of the West line of said tract deeded by Howard E. Huntington and Leslie G. Huntington, his wife, to J. W. Maddrill by deed dated February 9th, 19l6. 1(1;1 4/4/16 -l- $100.00 was appropriated by the Board of Trustees for the purpose of repairing streets where the paving has broken. was appointed to take Charge of this matter.
