A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon) Oounty of Los Angeles, and State of California) was held
on the 5th day of December , 191 6, at 2 0' c100k P. M. of
said day at the regular meeting plaoe of said Board in said city
of Vernon, whioh said time and plaoe is the time and plaoe fixed by
ordinanoe for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at suoh meeting Trustees, Furlong, Leonis
and Kniffin.
There were absent from suoh meeting Trustee,' Durbin and
stevens

Ordinance No. 1?5 entitled an ordinance declaring the intention

of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon to close up, vacate
and abandon for street purposes a portion of Center Avenue in the
City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, state of California, was
read for the second time and adopted.
Ordinance No. 1?6 entitled an ordinance regulating the hauling

of garbag~tbfouih the City of Vernon and fixing the hours when same
may be transported through the city and regulating deposits of gar-
bage and table refuse in said City of Vernon was read for the second
time and adopted.
A communication was received from John Flammer asking for the
return of his check which was deposited with the Board of Trustees
at the time he made application for a permit to establish a slaughter
house in the city of Vernon as he had abandoned his intention of
operating such slaughter house in the City of Vernon.
The Clerk was thereupon instructed to return the check to 1a.
Flammer.
Mr. Kniffin moyed that $50.00 be appropriated for the repairing
of Alameda Street from Vernon Avenue to 48th street; the work to be
done by the Wood Lumber Company.

The Board instructed the City Engineer to prepare a map and

Board in regard to the City looking toward the purchase of fire hy-
drants and the same was taken under advisement.
W.glawaszewski appeared before the Board of Trustees protesting
against paying his restaurant license amounting to $15.00 and requesting
that the same be reduced.
Said matter was taken under advisement.
Thereupon the meeting adjourned.
