19170417 Regular City Council Meeting - Minutes REGULAR MEETING. A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the city of Vernon 1 Oounty of Los Angeles, and State of California1 was held on the 17th day of April, 19l7, at 2 o'olook P. M. of said day at the regular meeting plaoe of said Board in said city of Vernon, whioh said time and plaoe is the time and plaoe fixed by ordinanoe for regular meetings of the said Board to be held. There were present at suoh meeting Trustees, Furlong, Kniffin, Leonis. There were absent from suoh meeting Trustee, stevens and Durbin. President Trustee Furlong presiding. The minutes of the meetings , held on April 3rd 1917 , were:read and approved. Ordinance No. 183 entitled an ordinanoe providing for the inspection of steam boilers; and Ordinance No. 184 entitled an ordinance est&blishing an "Information Bureau" and lJroviding for a secretary therefor &nd defining the powers and duti es of such secretary, were laid over. Thereupon Resolution No. 156 was introduced, read and adopted by the following vote: Ayes Trustees Absent Noes Furlong. Kniffin. Leonis. stevens. Durbin. ITone Said Resolution No. 156 being in words and figures as follows, to-wit: RESOLUTION ADOPTING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS NO. 156. RESOLVED, that the special plans and specifications heretofore prep&red by the City Engineer f~ the following work to be done and improvements to be made in the City of Vernon, as follows, to-wit: For the grading and paving with asphalt, concrete pavement on a cement concrete base all that portion of East 27th Street from the Easterly line of Santa Fe Avenue to the Westerly line of the right of way of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Company and constructing a cement curb, cement gutter and an 8 inch vitrified salt, glazed sewer from the existing sewer on Santa Fe Avenue to the Westerly line of the right-of-way of the Atohison, Topeka & Sante.
