ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING.
An adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Vernon~ county of Los Angeles~ State of ca.1ifornia. wa.s
held on the 26th day of July 1917 I at 4 0' olock
P. M. of said day at the regular meeting plaoe of said Board in
said City of Vernon~ which said p1aoe is the place fixed by ordi-
nanoe for regular meetings of said Board to be held, pursuant to
adj ournment from the ~('dmeeting held the 25th day of
July, 191'7 J
There were present at such meeting Trustees~ Furlong, Durbin,
Leonis and Kniffin.
There were absent from such meeting Trustee~ stevens.
President Trustee Furlong
presiding.
Th~ minutes of the meeting sJ held on July l'7th, 1917 and July
July 25th 191 '7 J were: read and approved.
Tneraupon City Engineer, Howard McCurdy was instructed to draw
plans and define assessment district to provide for drainage of
surface waters away from area to be affected by contemplated im-
..
provements of East 37th street.
Thereupon the Southern California Edison Company was ordered to
show cause why their rate for electrical current should be ten (10%)
percent higher, or in any degree greater, than rates charged for
similar current in the city of Los Angeles.
A communication from Harry J. Le1ande, County Clerk of the County
of Los Angeles, dated July 23rd, 1917, requesting that Los Angeles
Lodge #99 B. P. O. Elks be granted permission to playa game of base-
ball with a, team composed of members of the Santa Barbara Lodge of
Elks at Maier Park on Sunday afternoon July 29th, 1917, was read by
the Clerk, and the request was referred to the President of the Board
with full power to act as he sees fit.
Thereupon the meeting adjourned to meet again at the hour of
3 o'clock p. M. Monday, August 6th, 1917, at the regular meeting place
of the Board.
