ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING.
An adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Trustees o~ the
Oity of Vernonl county of Los Angelesl State of california. was
held on the 24thday of October 1917 I at 2 o' olook
P. M. of said day at the regular meeting plaoe of said Boa.rd in
said Oity of Vernonl which saidplaoe is the plaoe fixed by ordi-
nanoe for regular meetings of said Board to be held, pursuant to
adj ournment from the regular meeting held the 16th day of Oetober,
191'1 ,
There were present at suoh meeting Trusteesl Furlong, Stevens,
Durbin, Leonis and Kniffin.
There were absent from suoh meeting Trustee, None.
President Trustee J. J. Furlong
presiding.

duly made, seconded and carried, laid over.
Draft of an ordinance was read for the second time,
entitled "An Ordinance declaring the intention of the Board of
Trustees of the City of Vernon to close up, vacate and abandon for
street and alley purposes, Third street and two certain alleys in
the Hay Tract Addition to Nadeau Park in the City of Vernon."
On motion of Trustee Durbin, seconded by Trustee Kniffin,
said ordinance was passed and adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Leonis, Durb.in, stevens, Kniffin and
Furlong.
Noes: l~one.
Draft of an ordinance was read for the second time,
entitled "An ordinance declaring the intention of the Board of
Trustees of the City of Vernon to close up, vacate and abandon for
public street purposes a portion of 46th street in the City of
Vernon. ff
On motion of Trustee Durbin, seconded by Trustee Leonis,
said ordinance was passed and adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Furlong, Leonis, Durbin, Stevens and
Kniffin.
Noes: None.
Mr. Walter Szelaszkiewicz appeared before the Board in
answer to summons to show cause why his liquor license should not be
revoked for violation of the City ordinances of the City of Vernon.

1rr. Szelaszkiewicz pleaded guilty to having violated the ordinances
of the City of Vernon regulating the sale of liquor, and after a
full hearing of the matter the follo\iving motion was made by Trustee
Durbin:
That Mr. Walter Szelaszkiewicz's wholesale liquor license
be suspended for a period of fifteen (15) days co~@encing October
27th, 1917, at 6 o'clock P. M. and ending Dovember 11th at 6 o'clock
P. ].I., 19l7~ during all of which time the doors to his liquor house
or place of business must remain closed and no liquors of any nature
whatever must be served, dispensed, sold or given away, and that if
during said space of time it is found that any spirituous, malt,
vinous or other kind of liquor is served, dispensed, sold or given
away on the premises of Mr. Szelaszkiewicz, that thereupon and there-
after his license shall be entirely revoked; and further that if at
any time within six months from date hereof, viz; October 24th, 1917,
it is fOUl1d or discovered that Mr. Szelaszkiewicz or anyone in his
employ or acting under his direction has dispensed, sold, served or
given away liquor in any form by the glass, or in any other way
violated his wholesale liquor license, that his license shall there-
upon be revoked.
This motion was seconded by Trustee Kniffin, and adopted
by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees 1eonis, 0urbin, Stevens, Kniffin and
Furlong.
Hoes: Hone.
Upon motion duly mD,de, seconded and carried , it was
ordered that the City Clerk furnish Er. Szelaszkiewicz with a type-
written copy of the above motion and that such copy thereof should
operate as an order on Mr. Szelaszldewicz to comply therewith.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, meeting
