REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the city of
Vernon~ Oounty of Los Angeles, and State of California~ was held
on the 18th day of June, , 1918 , at 2 o'olook P. M. of
said day at the regular meeting plaoe of said Board in said city
of Vernon, whioh'said time and plaoe is the time and plaoe fixed by
ordinanoe for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at suoh meeting Trustees, Furlong, Kniffin,
Leonis and Stevens.
There were absent fr?m suoh meeting Trustee, Durbin.
President Trustee
J. J. Furlong
presiding.
The minutes of the meeting , held on June 4th, 1918,
lQl ,were: read by the Clerk,
and upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, were approved.
Mr. S. Edmundson appeared before the Board making complaint
against Alfalfa lull operated by Vernon Feed & Fuel Company on property
adjoining his house and lot on E 38th street. After listening to
Mr. Edmundson's complaint, the matter was referred. to Committee Consist-
ing of Dr. L. J. Williams and Trustee Kniffin for investigation and
report.
Sand hauling permits were granted to Fairchild-Gilmore-Wilton
Co., and Woods & Beeman Lumber Company.
Building permits were granted. to California Vegetable Packing
Company for warehouse and boiler house, and to Union Oil Company
for service station; also to Walter Szelaszkiewiez for storeroom.
City Clerk was ordered to notify Deputy City Engineer, Leo Theal,
by letter, not to issue any more sewer permits without the same "first
being approved. by the Board of Trustees in writing.
Herman Scheider submitted bond for office of City Treasurer
in the amount of $3,000.00, which bond was duly accepted and ordered
filed in City Clerk's Records.
Application of Frank Hauser, under date of June 10th, 1918,
for permission to operate slaughter house, read by the Clerk, and
ordered filed.
Application of Garold G. Hofmeister, dated June 17th, 1918,
for permission to operate lunch room, read by the Clerk, and ordered
filed.

Upon motion of TrQstee Kniffin, seconded by Trustee Stevens,
and carried by the following vote, deeds from Huntington Land &
Improvement Company, dated liarch 16th, 1916, and from John B. Leon15
and wife, dated NovemBer 14th, 1917, dedicating to the City of
Vernon a strip, piece or parcel of land 40 feet wide for street
purposes, the same being an extension of East 46th street to a point
30 feet westerly of the westerly boundary of the 500 acre Los Angeles
Fruitland Association Tract, were accepted and ordered recorded;

Noes: Trustees none.
Absent: Trustee Durbin.
