19180917 Regular City Council Meeting - Minutes
REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, Oounty of Los Angeles} and State of California, was held
on the 17th day of September , 1918, at Z 0' clock P. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said city
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees, Leonis, Kniffin,
Durbin and l!'url0ng.
There were absent from such meeting Trustee, stevens.

presiding.
The minutes of the meeting } held on Jngu.st 20th,
1918} were: read by the Clerk
and upon motion dlily made, seconded and carried, were approved.
Com~Dicat1on from Newmarket Company, dated September lOth,
1918, relative to condition of the storm drain running through their
property, read by the Clerk, and upon motion dull made, seconded and
carried, this matter was referred to City Engineer.
Communication from Salt Lake Route, dated September 13th,
1918, together with U. S. R. R. Administration Circular No. 44,
read by the Clerk, and ordered filed.
Application from E. J. Rennarty and John W. Taggert, for permit
to operate lunch wagon on premises adjoining No. 2630 Santa Fe
avenue on the north, read by the Clerk, and upon motion duly made,
seconded and carried, was ordered filed.
Communioation from Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company
dated September 16th, 1918, requesting permission to lay service
pipe on Santa Fe avenue and 27th street, to supply plant of C. M.
Gay & Son, read by the Clerk. Upon motion duly made, seconded and
carried, it was ordered that such permission be granted.
Communication from Mr. B. V. Garwood, City Clerk of City of
South Pasadena, Calif., regarding delinquent taxes, read by the
Clerk, and ordered filed.
Report of the Mushet Audit Company on City of Vernon for year
ending June 30th, 1918, presented to the Board, and upon motion
duly made, seconded and carried, same was referred to a Committee

of the Whole.

Financial report on the City of Vernon for months of July and
August. 1918. read by the Clerk. and referred to the Finance Committee.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried. Vernon Wine and
Liquor Company was cited to appear before the Board of T~stees at
their next regular meeting. October 1st, 1918.
The following demands were presented to the Board for approval

L. A. Rubber Stamp Co for $10.70 was approved for $3.62, the
difference being a proper charge to other parties and not the City
of Vernon,
