19191118 Regular City Council Meeting - Minutes
REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held
on the 181th. day of BO'rember ' 1919 , at 2 0' clock P. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees, Furlong.Leonis and
Kniffin.
There were absent from such meeting Trustee, stevens and Durbin.
President Trustee Furlong
presiding.
The minutes of the meeting, held on November 4th.1919
".' 191 , were: read by the Clerk
and upon mO>>Oh duly made seconded and carried approved.
r.rhe application of the Pacifio American Petroleum Co.for
excavation permit was refered to the City Engineer.
Applioations for excavation permits of the Southern California
Gas Co.to excavate at 2&13 E.38th.St.,5190 Santa Fe Ave.,2226 E.3!th.
St.,5502 Santa Fe Ave. and 2346 E.38th.St.for domestic service,was
granted.
Applioation of Sabas Lopez for permission to use street sweepings
etc. to fill excavation on his property was ref.erred to a, committee of
the whole.
Application of C.J.Harcus to operate a poolroom was granted.
The City Clerk was authorized to appoint a d.eputy.
In the a.bsenoe of one of the meabers of the Finance Committee
Trustee Leonis was appointed,by the President of the Board,to act
as temporary member of said committee.
The following demands were thereupon presented to the Board
for approval and pa.yment.

with the exception of No.4347 in the sum of $70.89,in the total sum,
of $'197.83;Nere 8PprDTed and ordered paid by the following vote.

Absent; Trustees st,evens and Durbin.
