A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held on the l7t~. day of February,19aG.JD. , at 2 0' clock P. M. of said day-at the regular meeting place of" said Board in said City of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held. There were present at such meeting Trustees, Furlong,Le~nis, Kniffin and Durbin. There were absent from such meeting Trustee, Stevens. G. Smi th F-or permit to barreL lubrioat- ing oil at 2530 Santa Fe Ave.was referred toa oommittee of the whole. Application of the Pacific Coast Industrial Federati~n for for permission to oonduot baseball games at Maier Park was denied. A.pplication of J.T.Jordan for permit to establish a slaughter house and stook yards at the corner of Boyle Avenue and 26th. Street was denied for the reasom that the looation is outside the slaughter house distriot. Application of the Thomas Have~ty Company for exoavation permit on Santa Fe Avenue was laid over. Application of F.W.Fawver for excavation permit on Harriet Street was granted. Applioation of the Southern California Gas Company for excavation permits at 2430 East 55th.Street,2436 East 28th. Street and 2527 East 54th. Street for domestio service were granted. An ordinanoe "calling a general munioipal eleotion to eleot two members of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon, A Clerk and a Treasurer of said City; establishing and defining the boundaries of a oonsolidated eleotion precinct therefor, designating the polling place thereof and presoribing the notice to be given of said eleotion and all other aota to be done in oonneotion therewith"~was introduoed and read for the first tim&. An ordinanoe "regulating and prohibiting excavations,declar- ing certain exoavations to be & publio nuisanoeE, providing for the abatement thereof and presoribing the ~enalties for a violation hereof", was introduced and read for the first time. 'CLv~ The City Attorney was instructed to file a dieolaimer in the oase of ~o. Angeles County vs.the City of Alhambra. In the absence of one of the members of the Finanoe Committee Trustee Leonis was appointed,by the President 'of the Board, to aot as temporary member of said co~ittee. .
