REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held
on the 20th day of July , 19tO , at 2 o'clock P. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees,
J.J.Furlong,J.B.Leonis.Iilliffin,Hornaday
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
Durbin.
President Trustee J.J.Furlang, presiding.
The minutes of the meeting, held on
Jul~y- 6th 1920 191 , were: read and Cl.'pprlived
,excavation .germi t allowing the Los ~..llgele s Gas clud Electric Co.
to excavate in front of 1935 East Vernon ~ve was approved.
Communication from C .L.I.Lasher asking for the privilage of crossing
Ross St .wi th a :Railroad track on the Alley between 37th and 38th St
was read and ordered filed awaiting a Blue Print from the Southern
?acific Ry.Co.
The following resolution known av resolution lio.184 was adopted:-
The Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon does hereby resih&ve:-
That the sum of $115.000.00 in the Gener~l Fund of the City of
Vernon be and is hereby apl}ropriated. for the purehase>Qf land~:Ic. equipIilert

lUl ordinance fixing the amount of money necessary to be raised
by taxation as revenue to curry on the various departments of the
City of Vernon for the year 1920-1921 and to pay the bonded indebtedness
of said City.
THE BO.ARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF VERnOn DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the amount of money necessary to be raised by
taxation upon taxable property in the City of Vernon as revenue for the
year 1920-1921 is 136...082.8&.
Tha.t the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon
taxable property in the City of Vernon as revenue to pay the bonded
indebtedness of said City is as follows:-
Bonds ma-suing January 1st 1921 and July 1 1921--$5~000.00
Interest coupons attached to said bonds maturing January 1st 1921
and July 1st 1921--$8.112.50
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance~and shall thereupon cause the same to be posted in three
of the most publiC places in the City of Vernon~to wit:the Northwest
Corner of Thirty-seventh Street and Santa Fe Ave;the Northwest Corner
of Thirty-eighth .Street and Santa Fe Ave and the Northwest Corner of
Thirty eighth Street and Irving Street at the entrance to the City
Rall,there being no newspaper of general circulation published and
circulated in said City.
I,Thomas J.Furlong,Clerk of the City of Vernon~hereby certify
that the foregoing ordinance was adppted by the Board of Trustees
of the City of Vernon at a regular meeting thereof held on the 20th
day of July 1920 and that the same was signed by James J . Fur long and
attested by me on the 20th day of July 1920.
In witness whereof,I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the
official seal of the City of. Vernon this 20th Day of July 1920.

Upon motion made by J.B.Leonis and seconded By Trustee Kniffin the
above ordinance known as Ordinance 215 was carried.
