ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING.
An adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of' the
Oity of Vernon# county of Los Angeles, State of california. was
held on the 10til. day of Aug11.s"t 193.0, at 5: 00 0 I clock
P. M. of said day at the regular meeting plaoe of said Board in
said Oity of Vernon, whioh said plaoe is the plaoe fixed by ordi-
nanoe for regular meetings of said Board to be held, pursuant to
adjournment from the regular meeting held the 3rd day of
Augus"t

191 J were: read and approved.
Applicat,ion for a permit to exc&vs:te in Santa. Fe Ave in front of 3601
for Gas connection was read and approved.Southern Calif.Gas.Co.
Application of David Pavowsq to build a smaJ.l building on Santa Fe
Ave.146 feet south of East 26th St.was read and approved.
Application of the Los Angeles Railway Co.to excavate in Santa Fe Ave
just north of Vernon Ave for the purpose of installing an electric switch
was read and approved.
Application of Mike Miller to excavate at 3866 Santa Fe Ave for the
purpose of a sewer connection was read and approved with the prOViso that
Mr.Miller immediately attend to the repairing and placing in good order of
the exc~a.ion he made in front of 3865 Santa Fe Ave.
Communication from C.L.Masher asking for permiSSion to allow the Southern
Pacific Co. to lay a spur track accross Ross 5t.on the alley between E.37th
and E.38th St.was read and ordered filed.Mr.Mosher was instructed to ask the
Southern Pacific Co.to get a franchise.
The following resolution known as resolution No.184 was adopted:-
WHEREAS.Pu.bli. convenience requires the erection on a suitable City Hall
wherein public business can be transacted and the records of the City
kept and
WHEREAS,Pu.blic convenience requires the erection of a suitable Fire Dept~J
and Water Plant for proteotion from fire and ...;
WHEREAS, the North West Corner of Santa Fe Ave.and Vernon Ave seems to be
the most oentral and desirable placefor the erection of said City Hall and
Fire and Water Dept.and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Attorney be authorized and is hereby
authorized to start condemnation proceedings to acquire the above desoribed
· property to be used by the City for the above mentioned purpose.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the
Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon at a meeting duly and regularily
held on the 10th day of August 1920.

was referred to the City Engineer for a detailed report.
