REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting 'ot the Board of Trustees ot the City of
"
Vernon. County of Los Angeles, and State of California. was held
on the 19th day of October 1920, 19l . at 2 o'clock P. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.

There were present at such meeting Trustees,
Hornaday.Kniffin.Leonis and J.J.Furlong.
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
Durbin
President Trustee J.J.Furlong presiding.
The minutes of the meeting, held on Oot.5th 1920
19l , were: suspended
The matter of granting the right to construct a spur track by the
Southern Jaoific. Rj" .Co. t~ feed the ~'Unerioan Encaustic Tile Co. was
again presented to the Board. An Ordinance known as Ordinanc.e No.2l6
being an ordinanoe granting the Southern Pacifio .Ry.Co.the right.1?rivilege
and permission to lay and con~truot a rail+oad spur track in the Ci~1
of Vernon was passed by the following vote:-
Ayes:-Trustees Kniffin.Hornaday.Furlong and Leonis.
Eoes:"':None
Absent Trustee Durbin.,
Applioation of C.M.Gay and Son to build a neW roof and make neoessar~
altexations to building an their premises was granted.
Application of W.A.Bremer to cut the curb for two driveways in front of
3612 So .Alameda st .wasgranted.
Application of the Whiting Mead Commeroial Co.to construct an addition
to their faotory at 2035 East Vernon Ave .as granted.
Letter received from the 'Illiiting Mead Commercial Co.regarding the filling'.
of the hole upon their premises. the burning of trash in same and the
improving and using of Ross St.south from East 38th St.to give them and
outlet from their property was feferred to the City Engineer ~for further
action.
Communication from the Keystone Iron Works was referred to the Ci~y Engine~
The matter of the Oi ty Buying and erecting sui table street signs waS
brought up and referred to Trustee Kniffin to investigate and obtain the
price of same from various sources.
