19210405 Regular City Council Meeting - Minutes
REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held
on the 5th day of April , 19~1, at 2 0' clock P. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees,
Hornaday,Durbin,Kniffin and J.J.Furlong.
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
Leonis.
President Trustee J.J.Furlong presiding.
The minutes of the meeting, held on March 1st, 7th and 15th
191 , were: Laid over.
Applications for an excavation pwrmit at 2141 East 37th St,4360 Santa Fe
Ave,2423 East 54th St and2237 East 38th St.made. by the So.Calii.Gas Co.
was read and approved.
Application of Mrs.Mary Grenot, to build a dwelling house on Lot 24
Block 2 of the Aldine Square tract was read and approved.
Application of the Keystone Iron and Steel Works to cut a driveway in
front of their building at 3601 Santa Fe Ave was read and approved.
Application of the Levy Bros,Box Co. to made necessary additions to their
storeroom building was read and approved.
Communication from the Stauffer Chemical Co. regarding the present conditim
of the surface of East 26th St.from Santa Fe Ave to the Bridge was read
and ordered filed.
Journal voucher No.lll was read and approved.
Application of Vi .D.Prater and H.L.Conners to conduct a watch service was
read and ordered placed in unfinished business as the ordinance under which
said application becomes necessary does not take effect until April 15th.
The following applications filed under resolution No.191 for a Deputy
City Marshalls appointment and shield were read and approved.
