REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of cali1P;1Rta, was ~:i~
on the 20th day of December , 19n , at to' clock &. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees,
J.J.Furlong.Kniffin,Rornaday and Durbin
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
J.B.Leonia
President Trustee J.J.Furlong presiding.
The minutes of the meeting, held on
December 6th & 13th.1921
191 , were: read and approved.
Application of the lmdsen Iron works for a building permit on Slauson
Ave East of Boyle Ave. was read and approved.
In the matter of unfinished business the question of the pa.ving of
East 27th St. was brought up. As no one of the objectors to the paving
was present with the exoeption of the Santa Fe Bl.eo. the matter was
laid over until the next regular meeting and the Clerk was advise~ and
instructed to notify each of the interested parties that in the event
that they do not present themselves at the next regular meeting the
Board wi 11 go ahead and arder the work started.
The Financial report for the month of November was read and upon motion
duly made and seconded and carried was referred tothe finance committee
A.pplication of the 3routhern Calif.Gas Co. for an excavation permit at
Vernon Ave '118 feet west of Santa Fe Ave was read. and approved.
An ordinance known as Ordinance No .22.8 being an ordinance granting to
the Southern Pacific Railroad Co.the right,privilege and permiasion to
l~ and construct a railroad spur track in the City of Vernon to .it~-
48 feet southerly from the NortherlJ line of East 45th St. was read for
the second time.

the beginning of a. curve concave to the west and ha.ving a radius of
29b.34 fee';thence along said curve northwesterly a distance of 372.62
feet to a ~int;thence north 86 10 30 east 197.37 feet to a point; thence

acres mQre or less,for the sum of $48,600.00 cash.

All of the above demands in the amount of $860.66 were examined a.n4
approved and upon motion duly made. seconded and carried were ordered
paid.
RESOLUTION 10.210.
TIE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TIE CITY OF VERBON DO IEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
That the S1:UIl of $48600.00 (Forty eight thousand six hundred dollars)
be taken,and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized to draw a warrent for
the above amount.from the surplus in the general fund of the City of Vernon
for the purpose of buying four acres of land more or less,said land leg&l17
described below,for the purpose of using said land for the ere.tion 01 the
neeessary buildings,ete.in establishini within the City of Vemonthe ne.ess~
fire protection.
IT IS FURTIER RESOLVED:
That the above amount shall be considered and the same is hereby ordered
considered as an advance made by the Oi ty of Vernonin the purchase of tl1ia
property and the City of Vernon is to be reimbursed to the general fund of
the City of Vernon above said amoun't froll the sale of Bonds to be voted on fa
the purpose of fire protection for the City of Vernon.
