19220418 Regular City Council Meeting - Minutes REGULAR MEETING. A regu~ar meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon, County of Los Ange~es, and State of Ca~i5?~8ia, was,he~d on the 18th day of April.1922., 191 , at f 0' clock it M. of said day at the regular meeting p~ace of said Board in said City of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held. There were present at such meeting Trustees, J.J.Furlong.Kn1ffin.Durbin,Iornaday and Leonis. There were absent from such meeting Trustee, Hone President Trustee J.J.Furlong presiding. The minutes of the meeting, held on Apr.4th and Apr.l?1922 191 , were: read and approved. Application of the Wi.shire Oil Co. for an excavation permit for a sewer connection was read and referred to the City Engineer. Application of the Southern Calif.Tel.Co. for permission to replace 9-20 foo~ poles,place 3-30 foot poles and 2 anchors and lay 90 feet of 1" iron pipe in dirt on the south side of East 26th St.east of the Sal t Lake Ry .Co. was read and approved. Application of the OWens Park Lumber Co. to build a building on Lots 13 and 14 Block No.1. of the Aldine Square Tract for the purpose of a cabinet shop was read and approved. Application of the Los Angeles Gas & Electric Corp. for a service connection excavation permit at 2039 Junior St. was read and ppproved. Application of the Souther Calif.Gas co for excavation permits at 66th St east of Santa Fe Ave.andon the South side of Fruitland Road east 200 feet from Magnolia Ave. were read 4;l.nd approved. Application of C.A.OVermire for a permit to build a building for a lubricating oil clarifying plant at 3134 E.26th St. or 3702 So.Boyle Ave. was read and as both locations were not in the zone in which Oil Companies can locate Mr.Overmire w.s instructed to select another site .jr his business. An Ordinance creating and establishing a Iealth Department of the City of Vernon was read for the first time. Application of ltts.Lawrence Nowell of 2440 East 67th st. for a license to sell pies,cakes and sandwiches to factory workers was read and ordered filed. Application of Krank Domecus for a building permit to erect a slaughter house at 3030 East Vernon Ave was read and ordered filed. Application of Ted c,ary for a building permit on Lot 16 Blk.6 of the Iuntington Park Extention No.1. was denied as the type of construction planned by Mr.Cary does not conform with the type of construction allowed on Santa Fe Ave. Application of the United DBessed Beef Co. for a slaughter house build- ing permit was laid over pending hearing from the Board of Public Works of the City of Los Angeles relative to the sewer. The City Clerk was ordered to instruct the City Treasurer to be present at the meeting at which the demands WeBe approved each month. The City Clerk was ordered to request a monthly report from the Iealth Offioer rela.tive to what oame within his jurisdiotion each month.Said report to be filed with the clerk in ample time to be l)resented at the meeting of the third tuesday of the month.
