REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of callfiJ8ia, wasA~i~d
on the 5th day of July.1922 ,191, at 0' clockH. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees,
J.B.Leonis.Kniffin and J.J.Furlong.
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
Durbin and Iornaday.
President Trustee J.J.Furlong presiding.
The minutes of the meeting, held on

191 ,were: laid over.
An ordinance fixing the amount of money necessary to be raised by
taxation as revenue to c.arry on the various departments of the City of
Vernon for the year 1922-1923 and to pay the bonded indebtedness of
said City was read for the first time.
Application of the Southern California Gas Co. for exc&vation permits at
2337 E.37th St and Jab one ria Road southeast from L.A.City Boundry were
read and approved.
Application of Santos Ysuel for a building permit at 2044 Audrey St. for
the purpose of a dwelling house was read and approved.
Application of the Poxon Co.lnc. for a building permit at 2201 E.51st St.
for the purpose of a warehouse was read and approved.
CoJmmnioation fromfl.~i.Middlec.off,special council for Kings County with
re~erenoe to an action he was filing against the Southern Calif.Edison
co. for the County of Kings ,Madera and Merced. was read and ordered filed.
Communication from the Industrials of Vernon with relation to the condition
of the stre..ets was read and ordered filed.
Data with relation to Iousing was brought up under the head of unfinished
business and referred to the City Attorney for the drafting of an ordinance
on this subject.

A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon,Calif. author-
izing and empowering Iarry A.Chamberlin.City Attorney of said City,to enter
into a stipulation in the cause now pending before the Superior Court of tlE
State of California ,in and for the County of Los .Angeles ,enti tled; ""County
of Los .Angeles,Plaintiff.versus the Cities of Alhambra.Arcadia.Et Al,
Defendants,No.I07727".
W'IEREAS, the City of Vernon is named as a defendant in the
action entitled:"County of Los Angeles,Plaintiff,versps The Cities of
Alhambra,Arcadia,et al,defendants,Uo.10772'1n.in the Superior Court of said.

WIEREAS, it is deemed advisable that the said City of Vernm
join in the stipulation hereinafter referred to,-
