REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Ange..1es, and State of ca1imBia, was,he1d
on the 3rd day of Oct. 19~~ ,191 ,ato1c10Ckl. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees,
J.J.FurlongtKnif~in.Durbintand Leonis.
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
Iornaday
President Trustee J.J.Furlong presiding.
The minutes of the meeting, held on
September 19th 1922 191 ,were: read and approved.
Geo.E.Eimers Glass Mfg.Co. application for abuilding permit at Slauson
Ave.and Fickett St. was read and approved.
Application of Ray L.Chesebro to erect a Tile Building 43;~ 100 feet
on the S.E.Cor. 27th & Santa Fe Ave was read and approved.,
Application of J. J .]'urlong for a building permit onnhis home property
of East 52nd St. was read and approved.

Applications of the Southern California Gas Co. for excavating permits
at 3039 E.Vernon Ave.1924 E.52nd St.& 2227 E.31st St. was read and approved

Application of the Medical Service Corp. for a permit to build a hospital
at ,East Yernon Ave.across from Whiting Mead Co. was read and laid over
awaiting the filing of specificationstproperty description etc.
Ordinance granting the Southern Pacific Ry.Co. certain spur track changes
near 25th & Alameda St and a crossing across East ~5th St. to feed the
Tononi property was read illld referred to the City Engineer for him to
file a report in writing with the Board as to his legal opinion etc.
Ordinance No.242 being an ordinance granting the Hilshire Oil Co. a
pipe line franchise was read and passed for the third reading.
Applications of Savas Lopez Jr. and A.K.Shrader for a franchise to run a
bus line to take care of the men working at the neVl stock wards on Downey
Road was read and laid over pending both of these parties getting a permit
from the RailWay Commission first.
City Engineer lloward McCurdy was iBttructed to order the Globe Stock;tards
to vacate certain public streets crossing property in use by tham northeast
of liobart Station.
The City Attorney was instructed to draw a resolution to present to the
Board in order that they might accept certain deeds in re East 52nd st.
street improving.

An Ordinance granting the Santa Fe Ry.Co. the right to construct awo
Ry.spur tracks across East 26th St. to feed the Stauffer Chemical Co.
and the San Francisco SUlphur Co. was read for the first time.
1\. temporary permit was granted said company so as not to obstruct the
immediate placing of this service.
The first monthly Police Heport of the City of Yernon was read and upon
monion of ltr.Leonis seconded by lCniffin was referred to the Board as a
whole to review sarne and to make any necessary recommendations.
The City Engineer was instructed to jJrepare the necessary specifications
for the paving of Junior St and St .Charles Ave.
The Consumers Rock & Gravel Co. presented an application for a permit under
Ordinance No.23? same was referred to the City Engineer for checking and
report.
Letter from the Sierra Refining Co. 2436 East Vernon Ave. with relation
to the oil being allowed to drain on East Vernon Ave.was read. Said letter
claimed that they had taken u.p the matter and corrected same.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned upon motion being
duly made.seconded and carried until-the call of the chair.
