ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING.
An adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of ~he
Oi ty of Vernon, county of Los Angeles., State of ca.lifornia~ waS
held on the 4th day of October 1.9G.Z 191 , at 5 0' olook
P. M. of said day at the regular meeting plaoe of said Board in
said Oity of Vernon, whioh said place is the place fixed by ordi-
nanoe for regular meetings of sa.id Board to be held, pursuant to
adjournment from the regular meeting held the 3xd day of
October 19122.,
There were present at suoh meeting Trustees,
J.J.Furlo5~.Leonis and Kniff~n
There were absent from suoh meeting Trustee,
Durbin and Jlornad.a.~
President Trustee J.J .Furlong presiding.
Th~ minutes of the meeting , held on
October 3rd 1922. 191 , were: laid over.
Under unfinished business the matter of the application of tha Consumers
Rock and Gravel Co. to conduct a sand pit, under the terms of Ordinance
No.257 was read.
Said Consumers Rock and Gravel Co. did present to the Board of <
Trustees an undertaking in the sum of Sixty Thousand DOllars,said sum
having been fixed by the Board of Trustees as a sum sufficient under the
terms of the Ordinance No.237 to insure the City of Vernon against the
refilling of said pit.
Said Frank Gautier and George Gautier were duly exami.ned as to their
holdings which were found by the Board to be sufficient. A motion was
then duly made by Trustee Leonie seconded by Trustee Kniffin that said
Undertaking be accepted by the Board.Said motion was duly carried and
said Undertaking was accepted by the Board.
Motion was then made by Trusee Leonis seconded by Trustee Kniffin
that said permit by granted.Said motion was duly carried and aai.d permit
was duly granted to the Consumers Rock &1 Gravel Co. to excavate said
sand pit under the terms of City Ordinance NO.2-57 at location described
as 600 feet south of 25th St and 1500 feet east of Alameda St.
The City Clerk was then ordered to iss.ue said permit to the Consumers
Rock and Gravel Co. under the terms. of said Ordinance Uo.2.5'1.
There being no further business the meeting was duly adjourned upon
motion be. made.seconded and carried..
