19221108 Regular City Council Meeting - Minutes REGULAR MEETING. A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of Calfo~58ia, was ,held on the 8th day of November, 1912.2, at i= 0' clock. M. of said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held. There were present at such meeting Trustees, J.J.Furlong,Durbin and Knif~in There were absent from such meeting Trustee, J.B.Leonis and Iordada~ President Trustee J.J.Furlon' presiding. The minutes of the meeting, held on October 17th 1922. 191 , were: read and approved. Application of Tibbetts Westerfield .Paint Co. for a building permit on Lot 17 Glassell Tract.for a Paint & Varnish Factory was read and approved. Application of the Filtrol Co. for a building permit on Downey Road No. of East ~Gth St. Was read and approved. Appli.cation of B.F .Ware for aouilding permit at 214G East 38th St Was read and approved. Application of the Calif.Dressed Beef Co. for a building permit at 38iO Santa Fe Ave was read and approved. Application of John M.Schwartz for a building permit an Slauson l\.ve .west of Santa Pe Ave. was read and ppproved. Application of Agustin Deltiemjia for a building permit at 2101 Audrey St, for the purpose of a residence was read and approved. Application of the Southern Pacific Ry.Ca. for a permit to build sheds a.t East 25th & AlaL.'l.eda Sts. for the purpose of vegetable receiving stations was read and laid over. ~~ ordinaace granting the Santa Fe Ry.Co. the right to construct a spur track across East ~Gth st. at the Stauffer Chemical Co. was rea.d a.nd laid over. Application of the Atlas Mixed Mortar Co. for a permit to operate a sand pit under ordinance No.2.37 was read and laid over. Letter from the City of Calexico inviting the Board of Trustees to be present at their cotton exposition was read and ordered filed. Letter from the Los Angeles Railway Co. relative to the placing of a streetlight at Vernon and Santa Fe Ave. was read and ordered answered by the Clerk to the effect that the City of Vernon is getting bids on this matter at the present time. Application of L.J.:lickman for a position as Deputy City Marshall to take the place of Officer ,lilliams who was injured on Hov.5th.1922 was read and ordered filed. Application of Iilgartner Marble Co. for a permit to haul slag across the streets of the City of Yernon for the purpose of filling portions of their land to protect them against flood waters was read and approved providing they use only foundry waste. Letter from the Pacific Ready Cut l:omes Inc.relative to fire protection in the City of Yernan was read and ordered answered by the Clerk .s to the present contemp16ted fire protection on which the Board of Trustees is working. Monthly Police Report on the City of Vernon was read and ordered filed. Decision No.lllli of the State Railroad Commission was read and ordered filed. ,appl.ieatian of the .luntingtan Land a,nd Improvement Co. for the approva.l af a map of their praperty.was read and referred to the City Engineer for appmoval or disapproval.
