19230206 Regular City Council Meeting - Minutes REGULAR MEETING. A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held 10:00 A , on the 6th day of February , 19:f.3, a't1Hlf 0' clock n M. of said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City of Vernon. which said time and place is the time and place fixed by ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held. There were present at such meeting Trustees, J.J.Furlong,Durbin,YJliffin and 1eonis There were absent from such meeting Trustee, Hornaday President Trustee J.J.Furlong presiding. The minutes of the meeting, held on January 16th 19:12.3, were: read and approved. Monthly report of the Consumers Rock and Gravel Co. for the month ending Dec.31.1922 was read and oriered filed. Monthly report of the Police Department was read and ordered filed. Petition to change the name of Downey Road to Downey Blvd. was read and re:Eerred to the City Engineer and the City Attorney. Ordinance No.2.4b wa.s read for the third time,upon motion duly made,seconded and carriedsaid ordinance was passed and adopted. Ordinance No.2.4i was read for the third time.Motion was duly made,seconded and carried that said ordinance be passed and adopted. Ordinance No.2.47 was read for the third time.Motion was duly made,seconded and carried that said ordinance be passed and adopted. Ordinance No .2nl being an ordinance est.ablishing and fixing the grade of St .l1harles A.ve .was read for the second timelUpon motion duly made, seconded and carried ordinance No.2nl was ordered pass.ed for the second reading. Application of the Central Manufacturing District.to have certain repairs made to East 26th St.between the Santa :Pe Ry.crossing and the bridge was read and referred to the City imgineer for report. A letter from the City Enginee.r regarding the in-advisibility of allowing anyone to hang pipe lines to our East ~6th St.brlicige was read and referred to the City Attorney. Resolution No.236 being a resolution abandoning proceedings of a certain public alley descridbed in Hesolution of Intention IJo .186 of the City of Yernon,was read and upon motion duly made,seconded and carried Resolution No.236 was ordered passed illld adopted. Resolution No.237 being a resolution approving map of an assessment distrid; for the opening and widening of a certain unnamed alley within the City of Vernon,was read and upon motion duly made,seconded and carried Resolution No.237 was ordered passed and adopted. Resolution No.238 being a resolution approving a map of an assessment district for the laying out s.nd opening of a certain street in the City of Vernon to wit E.5Gnd St.was read and upon motion duly made~seconded and carried Resolution :No.238 was ordered passed and adopted. f~ Page 3.
