Th~ minutes of the meeting held on April 3rd 1923 191 } were:la.id over A report sIbmitted by the City Engineer regarding the improvement of East 26th street was read and referred to the City Engineer for a further report A Letter of Abegg & Reinhold regarding the piping of water between the last 26th and 26th street was rea.d and referred to the So. Los Angeles tater Co. A letter of Blue & Mason, regarding the subdivision of 6 acres at East 26th and Downey Road, for business and indus*rial sites was read and ordered fil filed. Application by the So. Cal. Gas Co. for an excavation perait for layiag main at 52nd and Alameda Sts.: to repair main on 62nd st., 200 ft east of Alameda; to Berve gas to 2Z13. east 38th St,: to repair aain at Fruitland and Santa Fe Ave.,: and to lay main on East 25th street west of Santa Fe Ave., was read and approved. Application of A.E. Nicholls & Co for a filling station on East 25th street 200 ft west of Santa Fe Ave., was read and referred to the City Engineer. Application of Frank Protto for a building perait for a foundry in the Huntington Park Extmnsion #2 was read and referred to the City Engineer. Application of the Seuth Los Angeles Land & Water Co., for a excavation perait on the north side of East 26th street was read and ref'rred to the City Engineer. Application for a building permit by Clark Day to construct a shed for shelter for trucks was read and approved. Application of the E.K.Weod Lumier Co., for a building permit to construct a dry Kil. was read and referred to the City Engineer. Application for a building permit by the Western Finance Ce., for a office aad store house was read and referred to Trustee Dtrbin Ordinance granting the~iilihire Oil Co., a pipe line franchise Oil East 26th Street was ~~~ laid over. An Ordinance granting the Santa Fe Ry. Co the right to laJ and operate a Railroad spur track across East 26th Street in th~ City of Ternon, to serve the Comet Oil Co was read. Upon aotion dul. aade, seconded and carried said ordinance raSsed the second reading. 28 ?age 2- Minutes of the meeting of Aprill~th 1923. An ordinance calling a special election to be held in the City of Ternon, California, on the lOth day of May 1923,'"and submitting to the qualified vo~ voters of said City the proposition of incurring a Bonded debt in the following amounts and for the following purposes to-wit: FIRS~: $500,000. f9r the acquisition of lands and the construstion, installation and completion of a Water Works System to supply and distribut, and 'lants and Machinery to apply water for the protection against fire in ~ the Oity of Ternon. SECOND: $25000. For the construction, installation and completion of a fire alar-. system in the City 0'" Ternon, was read and upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, passed the first reading. AN ORDINANCE ,for the laying out and opening as a Dublic st.eet in the City of Vernon, that a certain private road in the said City,designated and described in the ORDINANCE OF INTENTION# 255 of the City of Ternon Was read and upon motion duly .ade, sejonded, and carried, passed the first reading. .-f' AN ORDINANC~ ordering the opening and widening of a certain unnamed ,public alley in the City o~ Vernon as proposed bJ ORDIlfANCE OF INTENTION # 257 of said City of Vernon, was read and upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, passed the first reading,. ~he City Engineer was instructed to investigate the condition of waste water and water drained from roofs being el'Jlitied into the sewer and to get an ordinance simular to the one passed by the City of Los Angeles. Map of Tract 6974 was submitted by the City Engineer to the Beard of Trustees for theirppproval, was duly approved. The City Engineer was instrue.ed to aake a report to the Board of Trustees regarding the wideing of Vernon Ave. There being no further business aotion was made, seconded and carried that the meeting adjourn. ~.
