REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held
on the 25th day of Sept , 191?3, atl~ 0' clock ll. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees,
Kniffi., LeoDis,Furlong.
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
Hornaday & Durbin.
President Trustee J.J.Furlong presiding.

Fra5chise of the Southern .Pacific Company for a spur track
at enter and Alameda Street to serTe the property of the
Pioneer Paper Co., was read and upon motion duly made,
seconded and oarried passed the senond reading.
The abOTe ordinance upon motion duly made, seconded and
carried was2adopted.
Franchise of the Southern .Pacifio Company for a spur track
at First & Uenter Sts to serTe the U.S.Steel Produots Co.,
was read and upon motion duly made seconded and carried
passed the firs$ reading. A motion was made, seconded
and oarried that a temporary permit be granted pending the
granting of Franohise.

was read and upon motion duly made, seconded and carried
passed the second reading.
The aboTe ordinance upon motion duly made, seconded and
carried was adopted.
franohise of the A.T.&.S.F.Ry for a spur track across
E~st 26th Street to serTe the property of J.T.Jordan
was laid oYer.
Building permit application by, Thos Beyrle for a factory 400 ft., East
of Alameda Street on 51st Street was read and granted.
Building permit application by, Pacific Ready Cut Homes Co., was read
and granted.
Bufilding permit application, by Calif. Oregon .Paper Mills was read and 84
re erred to the Ci~y Engineer.

between curb and property line on N .E. corner of 29th & Santa Fe Ave.,
was read and granted.
Excavation permit of the Sou. Calif. Gas Company to make excavation
at 3690 Santa Fe Ave., for gas service was read and granted.
Excavation permit of the Sou. Calif. Gas Co., to make excavation at
4716 Pa.cific Blva for gas service was read and granted.
Letter of the Board of Public Works InEtiDs AJ.3;geles requesting permission
to transport rubbishcit1tt>:::the "City'of Vernonwas read and referred to
the Committee as a whole.
Apnlication of the Sou. Calif. Telenhone Company for permission to place
9l ft., of 3 in.iron pipe along the north side of Vernon Ave.,west of Bo~
Boyle Ave was read and granted.
RESOLUTION NO. 269.
A Resolution of the Board of Trustees.of the Ci t~- of Vernon, California,
authorizing and empowering Thomas V. ~assidy, City Attorney of said City
to enter into a stipulation in the cause now pending before the Superior
Court of the State of California, in and for the County of Los Angeles,
Entitled, County of Los Angeles Plaintiff, versus the Cities of Alham~ra,
Arcadia, et al., was read and upon motion duly made, seconded and carried
was adopted.
