REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held
on the 16"th day of October , 19125 allGa 0' clock g. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees,
Kniffin, Durbin, Leonis & Furlong
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
Hornaday
President Trustee J .J .Furlong presiding.

The meeting was openecl with the calling for bids on the proposed sewer
work on St. Charles, ~ East 26th Street, and East J27th Street.
It was duly motioned, seconded and carried, that bids be opened and
read.

Franchise of the Vfilshire Oil Co.. for a pipe line franchise
across East 26th, 27th, and 28th Street, was read and upon
motion duly made, seconded and carried passed the third
reading, was adopted.
Prohibiting the establishing or manntaining of Chemical
Plants and Laboratories or Paint Mfgs., within certain
portions of the City of Vernon was laid over.
Franchise for a spur track at First and Genter Ave., to
serve the prope:btyof the U.S.Steel Products was laid
over until deeds from the Southern Pacific Co., on
Center Ave were received.
Of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon ordering
the opening of a certain private road in said ~ity to-wit:
East 51st Street, was read and upon motion duly made second~
and carried passed the second reading.
Of the Board of irustees of the Uity of Vernon ordering
the opening of a certain private road in the said City,
to-wit: ~ast 51st Street was read and upon motion duly made
seconded-and carried passed the third. reading, and was duly
adopted.
Letter from the Los Angeles Union Stock Yaris Co., expression their
appreciation for the repairing of east 26th Street, was read and ordered
filed.

pipe excavation at 2675 Santa Fe Avenue, was granted.
Excavation permit by the Southern valifornia Gas Company for ma~ing gas
pipe excavation at 5408 Santa Fe Ave., was granted.
Excavation permit by the Southern California Ga.s Company for making gas
pipe excavation $b Lot 90 Tract 6056 on 44th Street was granted.
Excavation permit by the Southern California Gas Company for making gas
connection across Santa Fe Ave at 49th Street was granted.
Leteer from the E.J.Stamton Lumber Co.,requesting the vacating and
abandoing of ~Jelve foot blind alley which divides a portion of their
property was read and ordered filed.
Letter from Joe Chutuck asking for an extension of thirty da.ys for the
completion of the 57th Street sewer was read and ordered filed.
Letter from the Departmen~ of Health regarding entering into an agree-
ment between the City of ernon and the Los Angeles County Health Depart
ment for all laboratory tests was read and ordered filed.
Monthly report of Health Offioer, Dr. Williams was read and ordaEsd fila

Letter from the Aercules Refinery regarding the draining Of/East 30th
Street. was read- and referred to the City Engineer.
Deed from the Factory Site Company. for a strip of land to be used for
the opening of Alameda Street was duly accepted, and City Clerk was
instructed to record s~e.
Petition filed by the Brombacher Iron Works for the opening of Magnoila
Street from Slauson Ave to the Union Pacific Spur track was read and
referred to the City Engineer.
