REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held
on the 6th day of November , 19123, atlGJ 0' clock i;,. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.

streets by the Southern Pacific Company to serve the
property of the U.S.Steel Products Co., was read and
laid over.
Ordering the opening and widening of Uenter Ave., in
the City of Vernon was read and upon motion duly made
seconded and carried passed the second reading.
Ordering the opening and widening of Center ~ve., in
the City of Vernon was read ancl upon motion duly made
seconded and carried passed the third readin&.wasadopted
Ordering the opening and widening of Topeka Ave., in
the City of Vernon was read and upon motion duly made
seconded and carried pass ed the second reading.

Pacific Company, across East Vernon Avenue into the prope~
of the Vihiting Mead Co.. was read and laid OVer.

City of Vernon by the Southern Pacific Company was read
and laid over.
Application for an excavation permit by the Filtrol Comoany for a
drain pipe was read and upon motion made seconded amd carried was
referred to a full Board.

and upon motion duly made seconded and carried wassgranted.
Application for an excavation permit by the Southern California Gas
Company for a gas main on East 37th Street, east from the VfWest line
of B?yle Avenue was read and upon motion duly made seconded and
carrled was granted.
Application for an excavation permit by the Southern California Gas
Company for a gas main on East 25th Street, 2761 west of Dovvney Rd.,
was read and upon motion duly made seconded and carried was granted.
APplication for an excavation permit by the Southern California Gas
Company for a gas line at 2000 East 52nd Street was read and upon

Company for a gas line at 2419 East 55th Street was read and upon
motion duly made seconded and carried was granted.
Application for a moving permit byG.A.Hechler, to move an Oil Statim
on property located at 38th & Alameda Street wase read and granted.
Application of Pete Cohen to operate a restaurant on the south side
of the Western Pipe & Steel plant was granted.
Letter from the Boyle Mfg., Co., increasing their license. from Sixty
dollars per year to One hundred tVventy dollars per year, was ordered
filed and the City Clerk was instructed to write a letter of thanks
to the Boyle Mfg Co.
Application for a moving permit by the Los Angeles House Moving Co.,
to move a dwelling across East 37th Street between Ross st., and
Irving street was read and granted.
Application foe a building permit by the Emsco Press Forging Co.,
for the constructiD~ of a factory was granted.
Application for a building permit by Hmdges & McMackin for the constTI
of a warehouse was granted.
Appplication by Laura DeIly for permission to operate a lunch wagon
at the corner of 26th & Santa Fe Ave., was denied.
Application by the Union Advertisi:p,.g Co., to construct and maintain
bill bmards in the City of Vernon as laid over.
Application by the Western, Pipe & Steel Co to construct a store Doom
south of their plant was read and granted.
Application by Abegg & Reinhold for a building permit was granted, s~
subject to corrections made by the City Engineer.
Application fOD a building permit by the American Grinding Co., to
construct a grinding plant was granted sQbject to corrections made
by the City Engineer.
Application for an excavation permit by the Los iwgeles Gas & Elect.
Company for the removing of their present 3fT pipe and replacing same
with 6Tl pipe was granted.
ORDINANCE Regulating Fire,Protection to be used in Oil Refinem
NO. 301.. in the City of Vernon was read and upon motion duly
made seconded and carried passed the first reading.
