REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held
on the 13th day of November ' 1912.3, at ~ 0' clock K. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees,
J.W.Kniffin, ~.B.Leonis, & J.J.Furlong.
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
P.J.Durbin & C. Hornaday.
President Trustee J.J.Furlong presiding.

Resignation of M.W.O'Dinnell as City Recorder of the City of
Vernon was read and upon motion duly made, seconded and carried
was a.ccepted.

Letter from the California Oregon .aper Co., regarding the conditio~
of ~ast 57th Street Was read , and referred to the City Engineer.
Application from the Union Advertising Co., for permission to
construct and mammtain sign boards in the City of Vernon was laid o~r
Letter from the City of ~es Angeles regarding a contract for certain
Sewer right-of-ways was read and referred to a committee as a whole.
Report from Dr. L.J.Williams, 6ity Health officer on the Stauffer
Chemical Co., was read and ordered filed.
Application fqr an excavation permit by the So. Cal. Gas Co., to serve
gas to 2120 and 2130 East 25th Street was read and granted.

Application for an excavatign permit by the So. ale Gas Co., to serve

gas to 2619 and 26&5 Santa e Ave., was read and granted.
Application for an excavation permit by the South Los Angeles Land &
Water Co., for a pipe line extension across ~ast 37th Street and to
the north line of Seco Street was read and granted.
Application for an excti3.vatlion perm1iJ by the Filtrol Co., for a drain
pipe along and across East 26th Street to a cesspool located on the
property of the City of Los Angeles was read an~ referred to the
City iealth officer.
Application for a building permit by the Remolite Paint Co., was read
and granted, subjected to the checking of plans by the City Engineer.
Applica~ion for a buildmng permit by the Vlliiting Mead Co., was read
and granted.
Application for a building permit by UBerge Christensen to erect a
plating shop was read and granted.
Application by Levy Bros Box Co., for the erection of an incinerator
was read ana granted.
Application for a building permit by the L.T.Ware Co., was read add tpa
motion was made that application be granted.
Application for a building permlit bj the Pacific Ready Cut Co., to
erect an offive building fot the Emsco Press Forging Co., was read
and granted.
Application for a building permit by the Hall Martin Co., was read

plants or laboratories was laid over.
Franchise for a spur tEack by the Southern J:acific Comp.
to,serve the U.S.Steel Products Co., was laid over.
Franchise for a spur track by the Southern Facific Co.,
to cross Vernnn Ave., into the Whiting Mead Co., was
laid over.
Franchise for a drill track by the Southern Pacific Camp
any along Center Ave., was laid over.
Regulating Fire Protevtion to be used in Oil Refineries
in the City of Vernon was read and upon motion duly made
seconded and carried passed the second reading.
Regulating Fire Protection to be used in Oil Refineries
in the City of Vernon was read and upon motion duly made
seconded and carried passed the third reading and was
adopted.
Declaring certain work and improvements to'be made as
described in said resolution, was read and upon motion
duly made seconded was adopted.
ABa_ding contract for installation of drill well to
Eugene B. Fish, was read and upon motion duly made secon~
and carried was adopted.
Accepting Grant Deed from the Union Iron Works,to the
City of Vernon.
Accepting Grant ~eed from the Metal Supply Co., to the
Oity of Vernon.
Accepting Grant Deed from the California Cotton Oil Co.,
to the City of Vernon.
