REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held
on the 4th day of December ' 191Z3t at 1% o' clock Jf: M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees,
Kniffin, Laonia, Durbin & Furlong
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
Hornaday
President Trustee J .J .Furlong presiding.
The minutes of the meeting, held on

ORDINANCE
NO. 289..
Prohibiting the establishing and maintaining of chemical
plants or laboratories or paint manufacturing in certain
portions of the City of Vernon, was read and laid over.

Pacific Comp~ny at First & 0enter sts to serve the
U.S.Steel Products Co., was read and laid over.

install a double track curve on the pO'1t-.b W0St corner of Vernon &
Santa Fe Ave., vias read and granjed, sub jest. to the Oi ty Engineers
approval on storm water drain.
Application for permission by the..i?ennzoil Company to store lubricating
oil on their property located at 4800 Santa Fe Ave., was read and
denied as location is out of the Oil Zone.

Letter from the City Attorney of Los Angeles regarding the drawing up
of a contract relative to certain sewer right-of-ways was laid over.
Letter from R.E.Borbeck regarding the locating of a Plant in the City
of Vernon, for the manufacturing of glazed brick and j?ipe was read
and ordered filed.
An Agreement executed by the Southern Pacific Railway Company to the
City of Vernon, regarding the sewer unget their right of way opposite
Center St., was read and refered to the City Attorney.
Repott of the City Health officer was read and ordered filed.
Application for an excavation permit by the Los Angeles Gas Company
for gas service on Alameda Street between Hawthorne and Alameda Streets
was read and granted.
application for an excavation permit by the Los Angeles Gas Company
for a gas service line in Audrey Street between Hawthorne and St.Charles
Street was read and granted.
Application for an excavation permit by the Crescent J:.i.efining Co.,
for an oil line in East 39th Street was read and refered to the City
Engineer.
