A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held
on the 3rd day of JanuarJ' , 19!4 , atl~ 0' clock ~. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees,
Leonis, Kniffin, DQrbih & Furlong
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
Hornaday
President Trustee J/J.Furlong
presiding.

A letter ;, from the Bromba.cher Iron Works regarding the repa~r~ng of
Magnolia Avenue was read and refered to the City Engineer.
A letteI trom,0Btompacher Iron Works, p~mplaini~g that the Pacific
Ready Cut Co., make it a constant practise tQ bbstruct Boyle Ave.,
in front of their plant, using same as a shipping department, and
makes Bnyle Ave., almost impassable. Motion duly made, seconded and
carried that this complaint be refered to the Police Dapartment.
ORDIN.~CE Granting to the GilmQ~. Oil Co a franchise for a pipe line
NO. 303.. system in the City of Vernon was read and upon motion duly
made seconded and carried passed the first reading.

on property located on East 38th street.

Application ~or building permit by the E.K.Wood Lumber Co., to erect an
office bu~lding was read and grwlted.
Application for a building permit by the ~eneral 4etroleum Corp., to
erect a welding shop was read and granted.
Application for a building permit by the General -"etroleum Corp., to
erect a printing shop was read and granted.

A temporary permit was granted to the Gilmore Oil Co for a pipe line
pending the granting of franchise a'pplied for ( Ord 303 )
Application for an excavation permit by the Cresent Refining Co., for
a pipe l;ne across E.30th Street and ~long Violet Alley, from the
Mercury Refining Co., to the Cres~mt .....efining Co., was read and upon
motion duly made, seconded and carried was granted.
Application for an excavation permit b~ the Los lIDgelee Gas Co., for
a gas connection on East 38th ~treet between Alameda & Ross Streets
was read and upon motion duly made. . seconded and carl'ied was granted.
Application for an excavation permit by the So. Ual. Gas Co., for So
gas connection at 2323 E. 52nd Street was read and upon motion duly made
seconded and carrced was glanted.
