REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held
on the 13th day of February , 192.4 ' at ~c9' clock 1. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees,
Kniffin. Leonis, Durbib 8: I!urlong
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
Hornaday
President Trustee J.J.~long
presiding.
The minutes of the meeting, held on
5th day of February
19~4' were: read and adopted.
The President of the Board of Trustees, J.J.Furlong requested
Ci ty Engineer, Howard McCurdy to make a report as,)to the lowest
responsible bidder on valves that was submitted on the 5th day
of February 1924.
The City Engilleer, Howard McCurdy reports as follows, : After
checking the bids on gate valves I recommend that the bid of
the Chapman Valve Co., be accepted. Their bid is the lowest submittc
ill accordance with our specifications ther.fQ~. The proposed Crane
Valves are not in accordance with the specifications.
Application for permission by O.B.Davis to sell chili meat to the
various restaurants butcher shp,a in the City of Vernon was
laid over.
RESOLUTION Of the City of Vernon, calling for bids on $526,000.
305 worth of Bonds for the WaterWorks and Fire Alarm Syste".
Application for an excavation permit by the Southerll California Gas
Company, for gas service at 2960 East Venon Ave., was read and graIl1i

The CLty Engineer was instruoted to call for bids on Fire Hydrants. Bids to

The Board of: Trustees of the City of Vernon, granted to the Los Angeles
Fire'LDepart.e.t, and Water Beard, permission to install three (3) fire
hydrants en the north side of East 25th Street, as per application filed.
