REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held
on the 19th day of February , 19324, at joo' clocki,. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees,
Leonis, Kniffin, Durbin & Furlong
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
Hornaday
President Trustee J.J.Furlong presiding.
The minutes of the meeting, held on
13th day of February
19124' were:
The President of the Board of Trustees ordered the Clerk to open
bids for a saniaary sewer on Audrey Street.
Bid of Joe Chutuk, opened and quotations as follows,
per lineal feet of sewers including manhole .... .......$ 2.57 per ft.
The President of the Board of Trustees ordered the Clerk to open
bids for the paving of St. Charles, Junior and Audrey Streets.
Bid of L.A.Paving Co. ,opened and quotations r.~ as follows,
Seven (7) inch asphalt concrete, inc grading per sq. foot .......26~
Six (6) asphalt concrete ine grading per sq. foot ...............24~
Cement concrete gatter seven(7) inch per sq. foot ...............28~

The above bids were refered to the City Engineer for a report te the
Board.
Letter from the Consumers Rock & Gravel Company, asking permission to
mine several thousand ~ubtc yards of material from the bottom of the
western pit on the illeTu.rk estate was read and laid over for advisement.
Report from Eugene B. Fish on well located on the City property was
refered to the City Engineer.
Application for an excavation permit by the Southern California Gas
Company for gas service at 2065 East 51st street was read and granted.
Application for an excavation permit by the Southern California Gas
Company for gas service ail Lot 2 East 37th street A.L.Ross Tract Lot 2
wascread and granted.
Report of the City Health offiver was read and ordered filed.
AppliCation for building permit by the Union Advertising Co., for the
erection of a display board on Lot 16 Block 3 Aldine square Tract was
read abd granted.
Application for a building permit by W.T.Bender for a factory building
at 2100 East 51st street was read and g~anted.
Application for a building permit by Pioneer Paper Company for an addit~
to boiler room was read and granted.
Motion was made, seconded and carried that the salary o~ Deputy Marshall
Herman Bosshard be discontinued, with the January warrant.

submitted to the City on $ 626,000. of Water Works and Fire Alarm Bonds.
