ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING.
An adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Vernon, county of Los Angeles, State of california, was

nance for regular meetings of said Board to be held, pursuant to

Auplication fer an excavation permit by the Sc:>t1:thern Ua1ifornia. Gas
Company, fer a gas connection at 5201-19 Santa ~e Ave., was read
and granted.
Application for an 'excavation permit by the Southern California Gas
Comuany for a gas cenLection at Vernon and B~yle avenue was read
and upon motion duly made seconded and carried was granted.
Application for an excavation permit by the L04 Angelos Paving Co.,
for the purpose of a driveway, 120' north of 30th street was granted.
Application for an excavation permit by the Pennzeil Co~pany te jPut
a 500 gal. gasoline tank inside of the curb line at 2626 Santa ~e Ave
was read and denied.
Application fer permiSSion by F.L.Brown to sell candy and confectione~
at the various plants and factories was read and laid over until the
adoptionof the new License Ondinance.
Communication from the Pacific Pump Co..regarding the installation
of a deep well turbine pump in the City well was read and laid over
until May 13th 1924.
Communication from the E.J.Stanton Lumber Co., regarding the vacating
of a 12' blind alley ajoining their property was read and referred to
the City Engineer.
Communication from the Factory Site Co., regarding a deed conveying a
certain parcel of property was read and ordered filed until funds are
available for the purchase of this property.
Communication from the Soathern Oalifornia Telephone Company regarding
the placing of poles and anchorsn in the City of Vernon was read
and ordered filed.
A~plication for permission to operate a lunch room at the corner of
53rd Street and Santa Fe Ave., by Earl T. Cochran was read and ordered
filed.
Communication from ~.K.lsaacs, Fire Inspwctor approving plans submitt.
by the Associated Oil Company was read and ordered filed.
Communication from M.J.Finkenstein representing the Western Iron &
Metal Co. ,asking permission to fence in alley east on Santa Fe Ave.,
between E. 25th & E. 26th Street was read and ordered filed.

for a change in rates of the Southern California Telephone Company and the
re-zoning of certain portions of their system Was read and ordered filed.
Communication from the General Petroleum Corp., with plans attached
ef the feamite system in accordance with city ordinance no. 309 was read
and referred to H.I.Isaacs for approval.
ORD. 300. Application for a spur track franchise by the Southern Pacific
Company for a spur track across East Vernon Ave., was read
and upon motion duly made was laid over.
ORD. 31&. Application for a spliLr track ,franchise for the continaing of the
Center Avenue spur to Santa ~e Avenue was read and denied.
ORD. 313 Application for a spur track franchise across East 51st Street
at Alameda Street to serve the American Encaustiv Tillmg Co.,
was read and upon motion duly made secondsde and carried passedt
the first reading.
RESO. 320 ProvidiIg for the dividing of the Board of Trustees into various
Comrnittees, and authorizing the President of the Board to make
such appointments, namely Finance Committee, Police Com.m.mttee am
Public Service Colmllittee, was read and upon motion duly made,
seconded and carried was duly adopted.
