19240701 Regular City Council Meeting - Minutes REGULAR MEETING. A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held on the 1st day of J~ ' 1914 , at 1.:G 0' clock 1'. M. of said day at the regular meetIng place of said Board in said City of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held. There were present at such meeting Trustees, Durbin, Kniffin, LeT7, Leonis & Furlong There, were absent from such meeting Trustee, Nene President Trustee J.J.Furlong presiding. The minutes of the meeting, held on June 18th 19E4, were: laid OTer. Bid of the Asbury Truck Company was read as fellows: In reply to your request for bids, under date of June 18th.1924 t. fUrnish all laber necessary fer the in- stallation of cast iron water mains, fittings, gate valves, fire hydrants, etc., in accordance with plans Nos. 176,177,178,179,185 and the specifications No. 20 in a manner satisfactory to your engineer, we are pleased te submit the fol10wing:- 1 note in specification 20 under items 11 and 12 it was und~cided as to jusy where the water mamas are to be laid on certain streets, and I therefore respectfully submit that we be permitted to install the system covered by the plans and specifications on a cost plus basis, under which arrangements the First National ~ank of Vernon would audit and pay all bills. The undersigned drawing no money until after the JOB was completed. The cost tc yeu would be the actual cost of performing the work plus 10 percent profit to us. This arrangement would make it possible fer your Engineer to make any chamges which might be necessary on account of unforseen obsticals which were net taken inte consideration when the plans were drawn, therefor eliminating the neccessity of reaching an agreement with the contractor on the cost of such changes.
