19250204 Regular City Council Meeting - Minutes ADJOURIiED REGULAR MEETING. A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held on the 4th day of j1ebntary , 19~5 , at ,;,9 0' clock FIt M. of said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held. There were present at such meeting Trustees, Furlong, Kniffin, Durbin, Leonis and Levy. MaTed by Durbin and seconded by Levy that the same be granted. Motion carried. An application for a building permit by the California Naptha Pro., Company for warehouse was read. As said application was for the erection of a warehouse to store oil out side of the oil zone it was mOTed by LeTY and seconded by Darbin that same be filed. Motion aarried. Applications by the Southern California felephone Company were read. Moved by Levy and seconded by LeonIs that the applications be filed and permits granted. Motion carried. An application for a bQlding permit on Lot 8, Tract 7269 b~ V.P. Gilbert was read. MaTed by Leonis, seconded by Darbin that application be filed and permit granted. Motion carried. An applica~ion by F.B.Brisby for restaurant on the northwest corner of Vernon ~ Boyle Ave., was read. Moved by Levy and seconded by Darbin that same be filed. Motioh carried. An application of the Southern California Telephone Company to repair service on the southwest corner of 37th Street and Santa Fe Avenue was read. Koved by Kniffin and seconded by Durbin that application be filed and permit granted. Motion carried. Application of the ~edimada Bui14ing Co., to erect saall houses on property locatad~at 26th and ~anta la Ave., was read. MaTed by Durbin and seconded by Kniffin that same be laid OTer. Motion carried. An application for a building permit by J.J.Doyle for a building permit for ticket office to be located on Lot 56 Blk 3 Aldine Square Taact. Moved by Durbin and seconded by Kniffin that application be filed and permit granted. Motion carried. Communication f~~ the Vernon k sSoutheastern Industries Assln, regarding drainage of certain property in said City was read. Moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy that communication be referred to City Ingineer. Motion carried. AfR!. : ~ Communication from the Vernoll &; Southeastern Industries ABsln, regarding paving of Slauson Ave., was read. Moved by Levy and seconded by Durbin that same be referred to City Attorney. Motion carried. Communication from the Los Angeles Railway Company requesting a fire permi; for their Vernon Yard was read. A c~mmunication from EdR. ~Qwen, consulting Emgineer, employed by the City of ernon as consulting engineer in the construction of the water system in m said City, in which he thanked the Board for the splendid co-operation received by him from the City Trustees and City Engineer was rea~. Motion carried. A demand in the sum of $3000.00 of Geo. Mitchell Company was read. MOTed by Levi. seconded by Leonis that warrants be drawn for the sum out of the construction fund of the City. Motion carried.
