REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held
on the 26th day of February , 19125, at19 o'clockJi'. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees,
J.J.Fur10ng, Leonis, Levy, Kniffin and Durbin.
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
None
President Trustee J.J.Fur1ong presiding.
The minutes of the meeting, held on
February 10th were read and ~, were: laid over.
NEW BUSINESS:
APPLICATION 496: An application of the Parrafine Company was read.
It was mOTed by Durbin and seconded by Kniffin that same be laid ever.
Motion carried.
APPLICATION 498: An application of the Brown & Derry Lumber Co., for a
permit to erect a storage shed to cost $300.00 was read.
It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Kniffin that application be filed
and permit granted. Motion carried.
APPLICATION 500: An application of Whiting Mead Company for the erection
of a warehouse at a cost of $450.00 was read.
It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Kniffin that application be filed
and permit granted. Motion carried.
APPLICATION 503: An application of the Southern California Gas Company
for pe~mit to excavate prospect holes on the East and ~est side of
Santa Fe Ave., (20 holes in all) was read.

It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Kniffin that application be filed
and permit granted. Notion carried.
APPLICATION 504: an application of the .iilshire Oil Company for a permit
to bury a 550 gallon tank for the storage of gasoline 20' from the curb
line of the property of the Western rron & Metal Co., at 26th & Santa Fe
Ave., was read.
It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Kniffin that the same be referredJi>
to the City Engineer. Motion carried.
A?PLICATION 506: An application of the Southern California Gas Company
to repair service at 2324 East 38th Street, was read.
It was moved by Levy and seconded by Durbin that same be granted. Motion
carried.
APPLICATION 606: An application of the Southern California ~elephone
Company for permit to set three 35' poles and remove four 30~ poles
on the south side of East 26th Street between Downey Road and the City
Limits, was read.
It was moved by Durbin, and seconded by Kniffin that applicatiou, be filed
and permit granted. Motion carried.
A~PLICATION 507: An application of the Southern California Telephone
Company for permission to place five 30' and one 36' poles and anchor
on the south side of 25th Street, east of Alameda Street, was read.

It was moved by Kniffin and seconded by Durbin that application be filed
and permits, granted. Motion carried.
Application of J.B.Linden, F.C.Ziesman and Jesse C. Mulvaney for positiom
on the Fire Department and Police Department were read.
It was moved b~ Levy and seconded by Kniffin that the same be filed.
Motion carried.
APPLICATION 501: An application of J.J.Doyle to construct two rooms as
additions to building at 2228 East 38th Street at cost of $ 1000.00 was
read.
It was moved by Kniffin and seconded by Durbin that applications be filed
and permit granted. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE 348: Am ordinance providing for an issue of bonds of the City
of vernon California in the sum of $ 150,OuO.00 for the acquisition and
construction of a sanitary sewer, was read, for first reading.
It was moved by Kniffin, seconded by Durbin that Ordinance 348 be passed
for the first reading. Motion carried.
It was moved by Kniffin and seconded by Leonis that map of Tract 8087 be
approved as presented by the City Engineer. Motion carried.
It was moved by ~evy and seconded by Kniffin that Mr. Leonis be empowered
to secure an Auditor for a monthly audit of the City's booms at least
during the construction period. Motion carried.
RESQLUTION 352: A resolution empowering the City ~ngineer of the City
of 'ernon to have full charge of all the street work in said City, was ..
read.
It was moved by Kniffin and seconded by levy that
adopted. Motion carried.
