ADJOURNED
REGULAR MEETING.
A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held
on the 24th day of March , 19125, at ~Oo' clock it. M. of
said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City
of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by
ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held.
There were present at such meeting Trustees,
Furlong, Kniffin, Leonis, Durbin and Levy
There were absent from such meeting Trustee,
None

The minutes of the meeting, held on
March 20th 1925 191 , were: read.
It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Levy that the minutes be approved
as read. Motion carried.
The following bids were opened for the furnishing of cast iron pipe
and supplies to the City of Vernon:
Uni tes States Cast Iron & l!'oundry Co.
Grinnell Company.
Paci~ic Pipe & Supply Co.
It was moved by ~evy and seconded by Durbin that these bids be referred
to the City Engineer for cuecking and report. Motion carried.
The following bids were then opened for the construction of sewers in
Unit No.1 of the Sewer District No.1 in the City of Vernon:
J.C.lfickey.
Thomas liaverty.
Joe Chutuk.
O.K.liearte.
It was moved by Kniffin and seconded by ~evy that all bids be rejected
with the exception of the bid of Joe Chutuk and that he be awarded
the contract at the price named in his bid. Motion carried.
It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Kniffin that the City Clerk
be instructed to advertise for bids for the construction of the sewers
of Unit Nos. 2 and 3 in Sewer District No.1, and that bids be received
April 7th 1925. Motion carried.
It was moved by .Levy and seconded by Durbin that the checl::: heretofore
deposited by ~he Brombacher IronWorks, 'vvhich accompanied their bid on
the building og the jail, be returned, as the bid was incomplete.
Motion carried.
It was moved by ~evy and seconded by Aniffin that all bids on plumbing
fixtures for the~Jail be rejected, except the bid of John M. ~ustace,
and that the said John M. Eustace be awarded the contract. Motion carrie'l.

A'?.PL: 528, of the Vlilshire Oil Company for a building permit to construct
an office building, same being O.K.'d by the City Enginee r.
It was moved by Levy and seconded by ~~iffin that the application be filed am
permit granted.
ORD: 351, an ordinance Rroviding for the issuing of $455~OOO. ~ater Works
Improvement Bonds, and ~,'15,OOO. Fire Alarm Improvement Bonds of the City
of Vernon, was read in full for second reading.
It was moved by Leonis and seconded by Levy that ordinance 351 be passed for
second reading. Motion carried.
ORD: 351, was read for third reading.
It \1vas moved by Leonis and sec onded by Kniffin that ordinance 351 be adopted
Motion carrj.ed by the following vote; Ayes Messrs, Jj\1rlong, Kniffin, Leonis,
Durbin and ~evy. Noes; none. Absent; none.
RESO: 355, a resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon auth-
orizing the City Clerk to advertise the sale of bonds mentioned in ordinance
351, was read.
It was moved by Leonis and seconded by ~evy that Resolution 355 be adopted.

.APPL: 524 , 525 , 526 and 527, of the SOllthern California Gas Company were read,
same having the approval of the City Engineer.
It was moved by leonis and seconded by ~evy that these applications be fileda
and permits granted. Motion carried. ~
It was moved by Durbin and seconded by ~eonis that the meeting adj c.urn until
March 25,1925 at lO:A.lvI. Motion carried.
