A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, and State of California, was held on the 6th day of May , 19126, at1~ 0' clock IAr M. of said day at the regular meeting place of said Board in said City of Vernon, which said time and place is the time and place fixed by ordinance for regular meetings of the said Board to be held. There were present at such meeting Trustees, Furlong, Kniffin,Leonis,DurDin and Mevy There were absent from such meeting~rustee, None President Trustee J.J.Furlong presiding. Moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy that the Resolution of Intention No. 358 be adopted. Motion carried. At this time the City Clerk reported that he hacLexamined the Great hegister and checked the names on the two petitions presented for annexation and that they were sufficient. The City Clerk presented to the Board of Trustees a petition for annexation of a certain property to be known as Downey Road Territory, to the City of Vern on. It was moved by Durbin, seconded by teonis that same be referred to the City Clerk to check with the Great Register to ascertain if there were sufficient names thereon. Motion carried. RESO: No. 359, A Resolution calling a special election to b.e held in the terri tory desci-'ibed in the petition, and hereinafter to beAas the Slauson Ave, Territory, on the 9th day of June 1925 was introduced by DUrbin. Moved by Levy, seconded by Kniffin that Resolution No. 359 be adopted. Motion carried. RESO: No. 3.0, A Resolution calling for a special election to be held on the territory described in the petition, and hereinafter referred to as the Vernon Ave., Territory on the 9th day of June 1925, was also introduced by Darbin. Moved by ~evy, seconded by Kniffin that Resolution No. 360 be adopted. Motion earried. - RESO: No. 361, A Aesolution authorizing and empowering the City to enter into a contract with the City of Los Angeles in refereli.. to taking care of a portion of the sewer disposal of the City of Vernon was read. Moved by Levy and seconded by ~niffin that Resolution No. 3i1 be adopted. Motion carried. ~ It was moved by ~eonis and seconded by Durbin that the Uity Clerk be instructed to advertise for-cast iron pipe to be used in the City WateruDepartment. Motion carried. ~emands were then read on the ~eneral ]und in the amount of $9iO.02, on the Construction Fund in tha amoutLt of $2188.00 - and on the 'municipal sewer district No.1 in the amount of $19029.32. Moved by ~eonis and seconded by ~evy that the amount of said demands be allowed and warrants drawn on the treasury for the amounts. Motion carried.
