The meeting was called to order by the President, J. J.
Furlong, at eight o'clock P.M.
The trustees present were: Leonis, Durbin, Levy and
Furlong.
The trustees absent were: IJr. Kniffin.
The minutes of the previous meetings were, on motion of
Ivlr. Levy. and seconded by Jrr.Durbin. and duly carried" 1ai d over unt il
January 18th, 1926.
UNFINISHED BUSIl~SS:
.QliQ.INAJiCE NO. 370: .An ordinance granting a franchise to the Southern
Pacific Railway Company was read for third reading.
Moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that same be laid
over until January 18, 1926. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
Estimates submitted by the Southern Pacific Company
in re: spur track to certain City of Vernon property were read.
Moved by Leonis. seconded by Durbin, that the estimates
De accepted and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the City
Clerk sign an agreement for same with said company as per estimates.
Motion carried.
COL1munication from Southern California Meat Packers
Association was read.
Moved by Durbiu. seconded by Levy, that the communica-
tion be laid over. lrotion carried.
Communication from the Boyle-Dayton Company in regard
to the granting of a franchise to serve their property was read.
Moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin. that same be laid
over until January 18, 1926. Motion carried.
Application of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Rail-
way Company for spur track franchise to serve Boyle-Dayton Co. was
read.

be laid over until the next regular meeting, to be taken up with other
franc.hises to serve the same property. L!otion carried.
Communication from N. E. Olton for per.mission to con-
nect with sewer on East 55th street wa.s read.
Application of Earl Ahlstead for permission to operate
a Hamburger stand on property next to the old City Hall.
Moved by Durbin, seconded by Leoni s. that sarne be re-
ferred to the Police Department. Motion carried.

Report of H. H. Isaacs on the Vernon Oil Refinery wa.s
read.
At this time application No. 728 for sewer connection
to the Vitrifax Company and application No. 729 of the L. A. Gas &
Electric Company to make gas service connection at 1949 Ea.st Vernon
Avenue a.nd application No. 730 of the Southern California Gas Company
to make service co.nnection at 3811 Boyle Avenue and a.pplication No.
731 of the Southern California Gas Company for connection at 2050 East
48th Stree"t, applic~tion No. 732 for SeYler connection by Phillip Fried-
man Co.. at 5000 Pacific Boulevard; application No. 734 for sewer con-
nection to 'iVa.tkins Company at 4700 Pacific Boulevard and Application
No. 735 for sewer connection to Modern Iron Works at 4850 Pacific Bou-
levard. were read. All having the approval of the City Engineer, it

Moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin, that all the app-
lications be filed and the perm~ts granted. Motion carried.
Mr. Leonis reuorted on the conversation held between
Mr. Eldridge and Mr. McGuire~in reference to letters sent by the City
Attorney in re: the burning of refuse on the deTurk property.
Moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy, that the meeting
ad.j ourn. Moti on carried.
