MINtnES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF TEE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE: CITY OF VERNON HELD ON TEE
3rd DAY OF MAY. 1926. AT THE CITY HALL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON. 4305 SANTA FE AVENUE, VERNON
CALIFORNIA.
The meeting wa.s called to order by the President"
:1. ;t. Furlong, a.t eight o'clock P.M.
The trustees present were: ]leonis, Durbin, Levy
and Furlong.
The trustees absent were: Mr. Khif~in.
The minutes of the regular meeting of April 19th
and the minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of April 25th
were read.
}loved by Leonis, seconded by Levy, that the minutes
be approved as read. Motion carried.
At this time the matter of the confirmation of the
assessment on Ea.st 26th Street was brought to the attention
of the Board.
At the request of the City Engineer, it was moved
by Durbin and seconded by Levy tha.t the matter of confirming
the a.ssessment be la.id over until the next regular meeting
of the Board. Motion carried.
At this time the City Clerk read an ea.sement sub-
mitted by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railwa.y Company
for the opening of East 48th Street.
Trustee Leonis introduced Resolution No. 438. &0
Resolution accepting said easement and instructing the
City Clerk to have same recorded in the office of the
o County Recorder.
Moved by Durbin. seconded by Levy, that Resolution
No. 438 be adopted. Motion earried.
Application for a. pole line ~ranchise by the
Board of Water &: Power Commissioner of Los Angeles on the
north side of East 25th Street of the City of Vernon wa.s
read.
Moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin that same be
filed. Motion carried.
If. resolution submitted by the County of Los
Angeles Road Department regarding improvements on Atlantic
Avenue wa.s read.

read.

tion be referr"ed to the pOlioe and hea.lth departments for investi-
ga.tion and report. Motion carried.
Application Tnu the; Merchants Fire Dispatch for periniasion
to operate a private nigp,t patrol in the Oi ty of Vernon was read.
Moved by Leonie, seconded by Levy, that same be filed.
Motion carried.

filed. Motion carried.
Report of the Police Department on the communication
of the Los Angeles By-ProductsCompaDY' in referen'ce ~o_. a permit for
dumpi1l11g refuse in the City of Vernon and referred to tha.t department
wa.s read. The Police Department recommended that. the application
of the Los Angeles :By~2roducts Company to dump refuse in the City of
Vernon be denied.
Moved by Leonis, seconded by Levy, that the recommenda-
tion of the Police Department be concurred in. Motion carried.

Annexation case now pending before the Superior Court of Los Amigelea
County and the Attorney General.t s office in San Francisc'o.
