MINUTES OF A SPECIAL J,ID[ffiTING OF THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF TEE CITY OF VERNON, Held on the
25th day of May, 1926, at 2 otclock P .If.,
At the City Hall, City of Vernon, 4305 Sa.nta
Fe Avenue, Vernon, California.
The meeting was called to order by the President,
~. ~. FURLONG, at 2 o'clock P.M.
The trustees present Vlere:- Leonis, ~, Durbin and
Furlong.
The trustees absent were: lIr. Kniffin and :Mr. Levy.
The City Clerk announced that this was the time and
place for the hearing of evidence of ~ose:ph Chutuk against sewer
inspector Don Marriatt, as charged in letters of March 4th and
!\[ay 19th, 1926.
~oseph Cut uk , not being present as requested in
letter mailed to him on May 21st, 1926, a motion was made by
Durbin, seconded by Leonis, that work on Alameda Stree't sewer be
suspended, as requested by ~oe Chutuk, so he may be present before
the Board of Trustees and state what charges he has against the
Engineering Department and sewer inspectors of the City of Vernon.
Motion carried.
An a.pplication of the Ruether Packing Company, to
operate a slaughter house and meat pa.<<k:ing plant on location
formerly operated by Southern Cali fornia l.n:eat Company was read.
!\jroved by Leonis t:. seconded by Durbin, tha.t the applica.-
tion be filed and pennit granted subject to approval of the City
Engineer in regard to. sanitary sewer connection. Uotian carried.
RESOLUTION NO. 441: A resolution presented by the County of Los
Angeles Road Department for the improvement of Atlantic Avenue,
under the County Improvement Act of 1921, was read.
Moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin, that Resolution
No. 44l. be adopted. !:n:otion carried.
