MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF TEE CITY OF VERNON HELD ON THE ~2th DAY OF
.TULY, 1925.. AT THE CITY HALL 4305 SANTA FE AV'ENUE, VElm'ON,
CALIFORNIA.
The meeting was called to order by the President,
.1". J. Furlong. at 8 0 "clock P.M.
The trustees present were: Furlong, Durbin.
Le on1s and Levy.
The trustees absent were: Mr. Kniffin.
At this time the City Enginee~ reported on the
pump bids submitted to him July 6. ~926. and recormnended
the purchase of the Frank J. Kimball Company pump and
motor.
It wa.s moved by Durbin and seconded by Lav,.- that
the Oi ty purchase the Frank J. Kimbal~ Company pump and
motor as set forth in their bid, and that the other bids
be rejected, and the City Clerk be instructed to return
the bidders" checks. Motion c.arried.
A communication from the Frank J. Kimball. Company
was read.
It was moved by Levy and seconded by Durbin that
the same be filed. Motion. carried.
A communicati on f rom the Los Angeles County
Planning Cozmniesion was read.
It was moved by Leonis and seconded by Lev.y that
the same be filed. Motion C':a.rried..
A communication from Walter K. Mitchel!., certi-
fied Public Accountant, was read.
It was moved by Leonis and seconded by Levy that
the same 'be filed. Motion carri ed.
A communication from the Ruether Packing Company
was read.
It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Leonis that
the communication be filed and that the City Clerk be in-
structed to request the Ruether Packing Company to furnish
to the City Engineer blue prints of the equipment to be
instal~ed in their p~ant. Motion carried.
The fol~owing applications, having the approval o.f
the City Engineer, were read.
APPLICATION No. 9'05:: By C. E. Hanenstein for permit to take
up pipe line used for romite by Eagle Refining Company on
EaJat 30th Street and alley east of Santa Fe Railroad tracks.
APPLICATION No. 906: For a permit by John M. Cooper to
construct an office building for the Pike Auto Trailer Com-
pany.
APPLICATION No. 90'8:: For a sewer nermi t by Pike Auto Trailer
Company for aewer connection on Sa.nta Fe Avenue.

that the a.p:p~ications be filed and permits granted..
Motion carried..
APPLICA.TION No. 907~ By Charles M. King for permission to
construct bunk houses on Lot 10 of the john R. Taylor
Vernon Avenue Villa. Tract. to be moved from the Burr Farm..
It was moved by Leonis and seconded by Levy
that the applica.tion be referred to the City Engineer for
repo.rt.
It was moved by Leonis and seconded by Levy that
the meeting adj oum. Motion carried..
