MINUTES OF THE RE GULAR MEET IHG OF THE BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE C lIT OF nRNON HBJLD on THE 7th DAY
OF SEPTEMBER, 1926, AT TEE CITY HALL OF TEE CITY 01'
VERNON, 4305 SAl'TTA FE AVENUE, VERNON, CALIFORNIA.
The meeting was called to order by the President,
J. J. Furlong, at 8 otclock P. M.
The trustees present werEr: Leonis. Durbin and
Furlong.
The trustees absent were: Kniffin and Levy.
It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Leonis
that the minutes of the meetings of July 6, July 12, July
19, July 20, August 2, and August 16, 1926 be laid over
until the next regular meeting. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 389: An Ordinance of the City of Vernon
ordering the opening, extending and widening of Slauson
and Magnolia Avenue,s in the manner contemplated in Ordi-
nance of Intention No. 383 was read for second reading.
It was moved by Leonis and seconded by Durbin
that Ordinance No. 389 be passed for second reading. Motion
ca.rried.
ORDINANCE No. 389: An Ordinance of the City of Vernon
ordering the opening, extending and widening of Slauson
and Magnolia Avenues in the manner contemplated in Ordi-
nance of Intention No. 383 was read for third and final
reading.
It wa.s moved by Leonis and seconded by Durbin,
tha.t Ordinance No. 389 be adopted. Motion carried by
the following vote:
Ayes:
Durbin, Leonisand Furlong.
Noes:
IiI one
Absent: Levy and Kniffin
RESOLUTION NO. 458: A Resolution of the Board of Trustees
a.doptIng plans and specifications for the improvement of
Slauson Avenue in the City of Vernon, from the center line
of Boyle Avenue to the west line of Downey Road was read.
It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Leonia
that Resolution No. 458 be adopted. Motion carried.
RESOLUTION No. 459; A Resolution of the Board of Trustees,
approving map of an assessment district for the improvement
of Slauson Avenue of said city was read.

that Resolution No. 459 be adopted. Motion carried.

ImSOLUTION No. 460: A reso~ution of the Board of Trustees
declaring their intention to order certain work and improve-
ment to be made as set forth in said resolution was read.
It Was moved by Leonis and seconded by Durbin
that Reso~ution No. 46Q be adopted. Motion earried.
ORDINANCE NO. 387: An Ordinance va~ing a portion of In-
dia.na Street was rea.d.
It was moved bv Leonis and seconded by Durbin that
Ordinance No. 387 be laid over until the next regular meet-
ing. Motion carried.
Demands on the general fund, having the a.pprova.l
of the Finance Oommittee, in the sum of Five Thousand
Six Hundred Thirty-eight and 21/100 Dollars ($5,638.21)
were read.
It was moved by Leonis and seconded by Durbin
that the demands in the sum of Five Thousand Six Hundred
Thirty-eight and 21/100 Dollars ($5.638.2l) be approved
and warrants drawn by the City Treasurer for the same.
It was moved by Leonie and seconded by Durbin
that the meeting adjourn.

ft The Clerk reported that this was the time and place for the
hearing in the matter of the Northwest Sewer District Assessment,
as per Resolution of Intention number 357 and also reported that
no written appeals had been filed, The Board deemed it advi'sable
that the confirmation of the assessment be laid over, whereupon
it was moved by Trustee Leonis and seconded by Trustee Durbin,
and carried that the hearing be continued until 8 o'clock P.M.
of September 20th 1926."
