The meeting was called to order by the President.
J. J.. Furlong, at 8 0' clock P. 1~.
The Trustees present were.: Leonis, Durbin and Furlong.
The Trustees absent were: Kniffin and Levy.
It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Leonis that the
minutes of the meetings of january 17 and 24 be laid over until
the next regular meeting.. Motion carried.
A cormn.unicat ion from the :Metals Supply Company regard-
ing the condition of East 26th Street was read.
It was moved by Leonis and seconded by Durbin that
the same be referred to the City Engineer.. Motion carried.
A communication from Morris P. Kirk, requesting the
city to do work on Bandini Boulevard was read.
It was moved by Leonis and seconded by Durbin that
the same be referred to the City Engineer, and the City Clerk
be instructed to notify Morris P.. Kirk that this is a private
road and the city is powerless to improve private property..
Motion carried.
A communication from the Health Department of the County
of Los Angeles, extending an invitation to inspect the new health
center at Compton was read.
It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Leonis that the
same be filed. Motion carried..
RESOLUTION NO.. 478: it resolution authorizing the approving of
a contract with 'the City of Huntington Park and instructing the
City Attorney to dismiss the action of Greene vs.. City of Vernon
was read.
It was moved by Leonis and seconded by Durbin that
Resolution No. 478 be adopted. Motion carried.
RESOLUTION No.. 479: A resolution a.dopting plans and specifications
for the improvement of 46th Street, between the east line of Pa.cific
Boulevard and a point 3..5 feet west of its easterly termination
was read..
It Was moved by Durbin and seconded by Leonis that
Resolution No.. 479 be adopted.. Motion carried.
RESOLUTION NO.. 480: A resolution approving map of an assessment
district for the improvement of 46th Street was read.
It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Leonis that
Resolution No. 480 be adopted.. Motion carried.

RESOLUTION OF INTEnTION No. 481: A resolution declaring an
intention to order c 'ert.ain work and improvement to be made on
46th Street, and assessing the cost and expense, was read.
It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Leonis that
Resolution of Intention l'fo. 481 be adopted. Motion carried.
The following applications, all having the approval
of the City Engineer, were read.
APPLICATION No. 108a: By Southern California Telephone Company
requesting permission to place approximately ten feet of four
inch sewer tile on north side of Slauson Avenue, west of Downey
Road.
APPLICATION No. 1083: By Southern Pacific Company for permission
to connect to sewer to 4420 S. ~ameda Street.
APPLICATIOl\f No. 1084: By Anna L. Peller for permission to connect
to s~er at 4420 S. Alameda Street.
APPLICATION l\fo. 1085: By Marine Refining Company, for building
permit for the construction of boiler house at 2435 E. Vernon
Avenue. Appr oximate most $600.00.
It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Leonis that the
application be filed and permits granted. Motion carried.
The report of the Water Department on the amount of
r'evenue collected through irrigation meters was read.
It was moved by Leonis and seconded by Durbin that the
same be filed. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE no. 397: An ordinance gra.nting to the Atchison,
Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, the right, priv ilege and permission
to lay, construct, maintain and operate railroad switch tracks
across Chambers Street and 49th Street was read for first reading.
It was moved. by Leonis and seconded by Durbin that
Ordinance No. 397 be passed for first reading. Motion carried.
It was moved by Leonis and seconded by Durbin that the
meeting adj ourn. Motion carried.
