T.he meeting was called to order by the Mayor,

The Councilmen present were: Furlong, Durbin and
Kniffin.
The Councilmen absent were: Leonie and Levy.
The minutes of the meetings of May 21st and June
5th were read.
It was moved by Kniffin, seconded by Durbin, that
the minut es be approved as read.: Mot ion ca.rried.
The following applications. all having the ap-
provaJ. of the City Engineer. were rea.d:
A.pplica.tion from Foster and Kleiser to erect a.
billboard on Lots :3 and 4, Block 42. Huntington Park Extension.
Approximate cost 1100.00.

APPLICATION NO. 1515: by the Vernon Oil Refinery Company to

26th Stree.t. at an approximate cost of $75.00 was rea.d.

APPLICATION NO. 1521: Southern Cal. Te~ephone Co. to erect
five 30-foot poles and one anchor on North and South side of
East 25th Street: Two 30-foot poles on east side of alley
north of 25th Street, west of Downey Rd: Two 30-foot poles
and 1 anchor on west side of Do\mey Road, north and south of
25th Street.
It was moved by Kniffin, seconded by Durbin tlRt
the appli cations be fi led and permi ts granted. Motion
carried.
Applica tion of Jesus San ta Ana for permi t to carry
on business as a meat peddler in the City of Vernon.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Kniffin tha t
the application be filed and a permit granted. Motion carried.
At thi s time the Ci ty C1 erk repo rted that the
peti tion for annexation for certain property in the John R.
Taylor Vernon Avenue Villa Tract, was sufficien t to cause
an election.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Kniffin that
the report be filed and the petition be referred to the City
Engineer for checking and report, he to ascertain if said
land. is one parcel and if same is contiguous and occupied
land. Motion carried.
A communication from the Los Aqs ele.s COUll ty re-
garding Bandini drainage District.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Kniffin that
same be approved, subject to the approval of the City At-
torney. Motion carried.
Demands on the general fund in the sun of $6,963.94
were read.
It was moved by Kniffin, seconded by Durbin that
same be approved and ordered paid. Motion carried.
It was moved by Durbin. seconded by Kniffin that
the meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
