The meeting was called to order the Mayor,
J'. J'. Furlong.
The Councilmen p resent were: Durbin, L~ nis
and Furlong.
The Councilmen absent were: Kniffin a:l d
Levy.
The minutes of the regular meeting of June
18th were read.
It was moved by Durbin an d seconded by Leonis
that the minutes of the meeting of June 18th be approved
as read. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO.4ll: Granting application m the Atchison,
Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company for spur track fran-
chise on East 46th Street was read for first reading.
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin
that Ordinance No. 411 be passed for first reading. Kotion
carried.
A communi ca ti on from the Kenn edy Name Pla te
Company requesting a pennit and license to operate a
Stamped and Lithographed Ketal Product Company at 4509
Pac i fi c Boul evard twas read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Leon:ll:l that
the applica.tion be filed and a penni t granted. Kotion
carried.
A camnunication from the Finkelstein Foundry
Supply Compally requesting a license to conduct a generaJ.
foundry supply business, consisting of the purchase and
sale of both nevi and old metals, iron, steel, alloys en d
equipment for foundries, was read.

the matter be referred to the Poli ce Departmen t far in-
vestigation md report. Kotion carried.

operate on property south of Vernon Avenue on Santa Fe
Avenue, was read.

ORDINANCE NO. 412: Prohibiting the installation of derriclls.
etc. for the produotion of oil and oil products in the Ci W-
of Vernon, was read for first reading.

of the City Engineer of said City were read.
APPLICATION NO. 1532: by Southern California Gas Company for
permit to repair gas main on South-east corner at Downey
Road and East 26th Street.
APPLICATION NO. 1533: By Southern California Gas Company for
permit to install ga.s service at 4900 Santa Fe Avenue (con-
nection to be made on East 49th Street) Brown-Bevis Co.
APPLICATION NO. 1534: By W. Ii. Brown for building permit fer
the construction of garage at 2801 East Vernon Avenue. Ap-
proximate cost 1300.00.
APPLICATION NO. 1535: By V. C. Benjamine for building parmit
for the construction of factorylabratory at 3303 East 26th
Street. Approxima.te coo t $.135.00.
APPLICATION NO. 1536: By La Fon System for building permi t
for the construction of bill board at Slauson m d Alameda
Street. Approximate cost t225.00.

APPLICATION NO. 1541: By Peerless PaCking Company for :p:srmi t
to install ammonia system in refrigerator at 3290 East
Vernon Avenue. Approximate cost t4400.00.
It was moved by Leonis and seconded by Durbin
that the applications be filed and per.mits granted. Uotion
carried.
The report of the Police Department on the general
condition of the city was read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Leonis that
same be filed. Motion carried.
Demands on the General Fund in the sum. of
~11,058.70 were read.
It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Leonie that
the demands be allowed and warrants dra.wn on tm Treaw. rer
for the amounts. Motion carried.
