A communi cation from the Southern California Edison Compa.ny, requesting permi t to haul tree trimmings and brush through the s treetsof Vernon, the trimmings be~ng cuttings to clear wires, was read. It was moved by Kniffin, seconded by Durbin that the application be filed and a permit granted. Hot ion carried. Application of Fred L. Bronson to conduct business of general scientific research woik at 5111 Santa Fe Avenue, wa.s read. It was moved by Kniffin, seconded by Durbin, that the application be filed and a pennit granted. Blakemore, resigned, at a salary of $175.00 per month, was read. ,It was moved by Durbin and seconded by Kniffin that the appointment be approved. Motion carried. Report of the Police Department on the general conditions of the city was read. It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Kniffin that same be filed. Motion carried. It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Kniffin that the salary of E. Giles be increased in the ~ of Sixty (t60.00) Dollars per month to be paid out of the general funds, said increase to go into effect August 1st, 1928. Motion carried.
