At this time the City Clerk announced that
he ha.d a bid on his desk from the Gain6"Rell Company on a.
fire alarm system of the City of Vernon.
It was moved by Durbin. seconded by Leonis
that the City Clerk be instructed to open the bids.
At this time the City Clark opene.d the bid.

a.nd other electrica.l apparatus as advertised for. for the
sum of $3,950'.00. -
It was moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin
that same be referred to the City Bngineer for checking and

Report o~ the Fire Depar~ent on the
application of the National City Turpentine CO'mpany
was read. wherein said department found that the ap-
plicantdesired to' establish a busines-s manufacturing
turpentine outside of the district, and recommended that
the application be denied.

that the report of the Fire Department be concurred in.

Fire Chief H. H. Isaac-s report to the
:Fire Department on the application of Swift and COOlpany
was read. in "Which he stated that said application was not
in violation 0'1' any of the ordinances of the City of
Vernon.
It was moved by Durbin. seconded by Leonis
that the report be filed and permit granted. lCotion
carried.
Communication from the Poz~o Construction
Company as to an EOCtension of ten caleildar days on the
construction of the Soto Street bridge.
It was moved by LeO'nis, seconded by Durbin
tha.t the matter be refercred to the City Attorney. Motion
carried.

WIlson and Dish.ong. Of.ficer Wilson's salary to. be in-
creasen from $l85.00 to' $190.00 per manth, and Officer
Diahong's salary to be increased from Il75.00 to $l80.00
per month.
