It wa.s moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy that the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with. Motion carried. Communication from the Board of Public Works of the City of L.os Angeles regarding the construction of the relief sewer. '.vas read. It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy that the communication be filed and referred to the Sewer Committ.ee. Motion carried. Communication from the City of Maywood regarding improvement of Downey Road north of Slauson Avenue, was re~d. It was moved by Durb:in, seconded by Levy that the coramunica..tion be filed and that the City Clerk be instructed to notify the writer thereof that the Board now has the subject of their communication under advisement. lloti{)n carried. Communicatiom from Fulton Boot and Shoe Company requesting permi.t for the taking of orders for boots ani shoes within the Oi ty of Vernon. was read. It was moved by Durbin, seconded by Levy that the matter be taken under adgisement. Motion carried. Circular letter. from the California Real Estate ABsn. regarding conference to be held at Fresno, was read. It "v"las moved by Leonis, seconded by Durbin that same be filed. Motion carried. Application for permit by joe Tlexlia f.or permit to transport green fodder fo.r cOWs through the City of Vernon to a dairy at Rynes. Ca.lifornia, was read. It was moved by Durbin, ree onded by Levy that the application be denied at the present time owing to the spread of the hoof and mouth disease. Motion carried. Cormnunieation from Haas Baruch and Co. forpermit to transport refuse over 26th St. to the Los Amgeles Incinerator was read.
